“Secret Invasion” brings a “Dark Reign” and more for Bendis
Though ”Secret Invasion” is currently running rampant through the Marvel Universe, groundwork is already being established for the next big event at the House of Ideas; it’s called “Dark Reign.”
Unveiled at the Diamond Comics Distributors’ conference this past Monday, the details around “Dark Reign” are still somewhat hazy, though it has been confirmed that the storyline will essentially deal with the grim aftermath of the covert Skrull invasion of Earth. The storyline will also hold some especially powerful repercussions for the Avengers titles. Brian Michael Bendis (Ultimate Spider-Man)Â himself will be relinquishing the reins of Mighty Avengers after finishing its 20th issue. Also, a new group called the Dark Avengers will be formed, and Mike Deodato (Thunderbolts) will be providing art for the new title.
Bendis and Alex Maleev’s (Daredevil)Â proposed Spider-Woman ongoing is still in development, but the creators promise a long run on the upcoming series.
