Guitar Hero IV Details Trickle In

Imitation may continue to prove itself the sincerest form of flattery when Guitar Hero IV hits consoles later this fall.  Activision may be picking up on some of the popular aspects of the increasingly popular Rock Band platform when Guitar Hero may also pick up peripherals other than the titular guitar.  Though to be fair, the next virtual rocker may also pick up some modes new to both franchises.

According to news hitting the innerwebs this past week purportedly from the upcoming issue of Game Informer, the fourth installment of the series may also include a feature allowing for user generated songs that can be uploaded and shared with other gamers.  The user generated material would even go as far as allowing for custom artwork that could also be uploaded.

Also, while not getting as specific as naming individual songs, the report also mentions that bands to be featured include those such as Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park, and Sublime.  Finally, make sure to drop by this thread in our forums, where our own Chatham has scooped what appears to be the new Guitar Hero drum set.
