Jack Thompson Disbarred

Cake at an unnamed game Developers office Today gamers awoke to the sound of a slamming gavel. Jack Thompson (Florida Lawyer, Anti-Games advocate, Fundamentalist Christian voice, Credible Violent Video Games Expert on Fox News) has been disbarred permanantly (as of 30 days from today.)Â The case started last year, presided over by Judge Dava Tunis (my personal hero) involving 10 counts of comptent of court. This wasn’t the first time that Jack Thompson had been reprimended by the Florida State Bar… but with any luck, it’ll be the last time.

Thompsons was best known for his public slander of Janet Reno, his advocacy against rap music (2 Live Crew, NWA, Ice T, even MTV), and his antics as an Anti-Gaming advocacy. Primarily the super popular, Grand Theft Auto series and its developer Rockstar Games.
