Don Cheadle as Rhodes in Iron Man 2
You heard it here first, unless you heard it first somewhere else, ladies and gentlemen. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marvel and actor Terrence Howard, who originally played James Rhodes in last summer’s “Iron Man” have had something of a falling out. While financial differences are vaguely alluded to, no one is getting into the nitty-gritty of why things ended up the way they did.
However, not all is lost. Don Cheadle (”Crash,” “Traitor”) was soon approached by Marvel afterwards, and has signed on to play the part of James Rhodes and (possibly) War Machine.
According to Newsarama.com, Matt Fraction will have a hand in the upcoming film’s development due to his success on Marvel’s currently-running title Invincible Iron Man. Justin Theroux will be scripting the project, and Jon Favreau will return to direct it.

Oh dear! I hate casting changes in films. They could at least get an actor that looks and acts similar to Howard. Cheadle is a good actor but nothing like Howard!
Yeah, stuff like this always annoys me too. Why couldn’t they just make a deal and keep Terrance Howard.
