One-Shot News #7

* Comic Book Resources has a few preview pages of Terry Dodson’s art for the much-anticipated Uncanny X-Men #500.

* According to Omar Aviles at JoBlo.com, the trailers for Watchmen, the horribly-titled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, and and upcoming Ridley Scott film entitled Body of Lies will all be shown in front of The Dark Knight.

* Joss Whedon, creator of the Buffyverse and Firefly, is persistent in plugging his upcoming project, a horror film entitled Cabin in the Woods, while a horror fantasy film he has also been working on, entitled Goners, has seemingly been halted.

* Holy roundabout marketing, Batman! Vertigo’s cult hit The Exterminators may be ending this month with issue 30, but it has been picked up bythe premium channel Showtime for development as a TV series. Ironically enough, the outline that became The Exterminators was not for a comic book script, but a TV pitch.

* Immortal Iron Fist fans might want to check out this interview at Newsarama.com. Duane Swierczynski, Marvel’s current Cable scribe, has taken over, and he’s got some rather… pulpy ideas.

* According to a source at Newsarama, Rawson Marshall Thurber (director of Dodgeball) and Warner Brothers are teaming up to finally get cracking on a much-anticipated Elfquest film, despite several previous, unsuccessful attempts at adapting the comic.

* All mourners of the late, great J’onn J’onnz should read this interview with Peter Tomasi, the DC writer burdened with the challenge of eulogizing J’onn in the to-be-released-tomorrow one shot: Final Crisis: Requiem.

* And finally, GHOSTBUSTERS MANGA?!
