UPDATE: Box Office estimates show that The Dark Knight will gross $158.4 million this weekend, breaking Spider-Man 3’s previous record!
It started with the record shattering $18 million for midnight showings (not counting 3am and 6am, mind you), which Star Wars Episode 3 previously held with $16 million.
