‘24′ TV Movie Details
After a series of false-starts and executive shake-ups, 24 seems to be back on track.
First, the latest “day” was set to start in Africa, but Fox decided such a shoot would not be cost effective and the first half of the season had to be scrapped.
Then, the writer’s strike forced production to seize up. Given that the show is sold to advertisers as a mid-season boost, production was halted. Unlike other shows that had the luxury of a spring post-strike return, 24 had to wait en entire year.
Lastly, show-runner/creator Joel Surnow left the show.
Finally, some good news. There have been rumors that footage from the halted season, or perhaps even the partially shot Africa set pieces might be recycled into a special 24 movie. After all, we can’t wait an entire year for Jack!
Jack Bauer is headed to Africa after all!
CNN has confirmed here that the “24” movie will air this autumn. The season seven footage will be used and when the show returns next January.
Come and rejoice for more Jack in our 24 discussion HERE.
