In an open letter to their fans (as opposed to a studio sanction press-release), Alfred Gough and Miles Millar announced they would not be a part of Smallville for its 8th season. As a follow up, the CW issued their own statement, saying that the pair had been replaced by Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, al of whom have been been writer/producers on the show for several seasons.
