Excellent writing and a very light mood more than make up for the less than stellar production value in this parody of Hamlet, put into Dr. Suess style rhyme. The acting also sometimes leaves something to be desired, but, hey, it's rated H for Hardboiled: "Some material may be overdone."
It pretty much looks like a home movie, in terms of lighting and sound, but that should tell you how great the writing is.

The Brothers Grimm: A- It was really good! Good old moody-but-doesn't-take-itself-seriously type of thing from Terry Gilliam. Definitely worth seeing!

I LOVE that movie!
I saw The Brothers Grimm last night. I'd give it a high B+... I was very entertained. Not the best movieI've ever seen, but worth seeing and eventually owning on DVD. The banter between Heath Ledger and Maaaaatt Daaaaaamon was great (as well as their girlie screams), the story was inventive with its use of familiar fairy tale elements, and Monica Bellucci is never disappointing.
Of course, my favorite part may have been the mass exodus of parents with small children partway through the movie when they realized this wasn't a kiddie movie. Posts: 8510 | From: Omaha, NE | Registered: Jun 1999

Layer Cake. A- It's pretty good. Not going to take over in any of my top tens, but it's got a good story. nice backdrop in londonish. Ending was almost lame though.
Also, this year at Comic-con I went to the San Diego Maritime Museum and got to stand on the deck of the HMS Surprise from Master and Commander. This is what it would have looked like as you came up through the hold.

I just watched the Pacifier with my kids....I would use the puke emoticon but I'm too lazy to click the full reply form button.
It was not funny in the least, not even once. And I use to halfway have some respect for Vin but no, he is the worst actor ever.
