Is this what we put up with for better hosting? I don't have a problem with it, I just wondered.

Yes. We're getting a lot better service with this hosting company, which means it's costing us a bit more. So to level out our monthly payments we're displaying ad banners.

Oh. Sounds great. All you have to do if you are bothered by banners is scroll down a bit and it is the same old Nightly.

Hey JA, that's cool, but is there any way you can put the advertisement on the bottom, where it might look better.

Ever since March, I've been wondering why we haven't put up advertisements to help with the finances. I don't even find them annoying anymore. Just got used to seeing them everywhere.

Yeah I see the red x half the time and half the time I see the banner. I've gotten used to them too, especially since I was using netzero for an ISP for a long time. Not anymore. At least it's not a pop up ad. *grin*

why back in my day we had all sorts of banner ads, mostly for InsideDVD.com with the infamous "DVD Eye" but nonetheless...

Just wanted to say many thanks to FocalHosting.com, the folks who are providing Nightly.net. We're running their banners to help save some of the cost of our hosting fees.
I just wanted to tell you all that the folks at FocalHosting have been fantastic with their customer service and their actual hosting service.
The best way you can help Nightly.net is to refer everyone you know who needs hosting to go to FocalHosting for their hosting needs.
Thanks for everyone for their help.

One thing I'm now encountering: Focal's banner image doesn't completely load. It's only half complete with a "static-y" bottom-half. The link still works, though.
At first it was just that banner, but I've also started to notice it happening with forum banners.
Refreshing doesn't do anything.
I'm using Opera.

What ever happened to this "Chris" fellow, anyway? I thought he was the guy who started this place, but it says he hasn't posted for TWO YEARS!
Where did he go?
