Those are the folks who actually got around the censor. And for those of you who participated in the thread, but didn't bypass the censor: consider yourselves lucky.
I don't want to see something like that again. And I will now be revising censored words and setting new rules involving the censor.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and to those who have been banned: do not come back and post with an alias. If I find out, I will ban your alias permanently and I'll give you an extra day.

There was a mass banning and I wasn't involved? Where have I been? Who am I and what have I done with nuke?

Ya know JA, I have to agree with your decision.
After the Cinci meeting and thinking about teens asking their parents to go meet internet friends, if I were the parents I would want to see the boards and get an idea of what this is all about it.
I can see the amusement in getting around a system (I do it all the time). But this is after all the World Wide Web and anyone in the world can pay a visit and get the wrong idea.

I agree with Red. Just because it got to three pages and wasn't closed sooner, or just because it supposedly was contained in one thread (it wasn't); is no excuse although some seem to feel it was.

I'm sure JA can sleep better now knowing that you approve of his actions. I know I can.

DW is away somewhere, I believe. I don't know where DP is, but he's probably around. And as for myself, I just haven't been checking the Cantina all that much. Perhaps a new moderator is needed there.

Wait, this is for CL of the Cantina? Nevermind, don't pick me, don't pick me!

The Cantina is so big, this could be a job for two CL's. Maybe it'd be a good idea to have one that is able to be around during the first "shift" of major activity and another for the late "shift" activity.
Of course the CL duties wouldn't be restricited to those "shifts" nor would it be an absolute requirement to be on duirng those "shifts"... just that in that kinda way it's almost a guarantee that someone will be around (not to mention that Admins are around at various times aswell).
Yup. This is the convo I had with my brother last night.
Me:"Hey, you're banned for 48 hours now" Him:"Really? What for?" Me:"The swearing thread" Him:"Cool."
Of course he would say that. That's what some young people tend to say when they get in trouble, trivialize it so they do not have to actually think about it. It is both denial and an effort to look cool. If you asked him beforehand if he would ever want to get banned, he would almost undoubtedly say no. Now that he got banned, he of course turns it around to look cool. I used to do that. Ah, the vices of youth.
