When I asked for my name, I didn't know that another person at nightly had one which was so similar. (Tahiri Solo). I wanted to get another name withoug having to create an alias. I don't know if you can even do this, but it's not really fair for her that I just took her name. Anyway, I have a character named Tahi Yew, if you could I was wondering if you could make an exception and change my member name to this. Or maybe you could let me keep the same title and post count if I created an alias with this name. Anything you could do would be appreciated.--thanx

Think outside the box for a change DP... She's trying to do something nice for someone. You could let her create an alias and then augment her post count to what it is on this name and give her the title this name has... Thus doing exactly what she asked without violating any of your rules.

For those of you who did not understand what I said (GK) I said that "it's not that we don't want to...we simply can't do it". Did you get that? WE CAN'T DO IT!
If JA knows of a way to edit a members post count and register date, then I am sure he would be happy to help. But as far as I know, there is no way to change that info.

Well, for those of you too stupid to read (aka you know who you are) what does my registration date read? What does my post count read? Are those legitimate for the name registered as #6886? Eh genius?

On the original subject... Tahiri I doubt Tahiri Solo really minds. I mean, there's how many Skywalkers, Darths, Anakins, etc. here? I don't mind being another Skywalker. And with Tahiri being a new EU character, people are going to use that name anyway. It's good that you're trying to be nice, but don't worry about it.
Unless Tahiri Solo is threatening to beat you up. Then have her come talk to me. ;)

I don't understand. You can't change the publicly displayed name? Why does this board have another bug? I've seen other message boards where the administrators can change the displayed name by request. For Christs' sake, some boards even allow their members to change it. Is it that you can't, or don't want to?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be smart or anything. I had missed your last reply while I was posting. And I wouldn't have even said anything except that this seemed to be the cause of the confusion. It is possible to be done, and that's all people were asking. Whether or not you know how to do it wasn't really the issue.

It's just frustration man, you know how it is. It just seemed that everybody was saying the same thing, implying that we just don't feel like doing it.
GK said that JA knows how to get around it, but I don't. I have been playing with the control panel for the past twenty minutes trying to figure out how to do it, I just don't know how. JA has access to other things that I do not, I assume that is how he does those evil...I mean those good things that he does.

Actually JA turned that function off because we could run into a LOT of problems if members could change their names on a regular basis.
I know how that goes. I visit another UBB that has 20+ members and they have that feature activated and I can't keep track of the members!
