I have been lurking at these boards for months.. watching the fights and quarrels.. Watching how administrators handle the problems.. And I would have to say that the administration at these boards has become very Nazi-esque.
I have NEVER seen administration come down so hard what with closing almost 20 threads a night, currently. Many of which do NOT break TOS. Such as Snoop's "Goodbye" thread and Natar's "Serenity" thread. Also many of the threads that were meant to flood the arguments out of the board were closed before their creators were banned forever.
I suggest that administration get more laid back, or you'll find your boards empty and barren.

Yeah we keep telling them and we keep getting told to shut the hell up.
A lot of people are gonna leave in the next few weeks or so.

Well what ever happened a few days ago(I missed it) it was something that got people so worked up that they wanted to discuss/fight about it. I don't think it was realistic for the moderators to expect them to just drop the issue cold turkey. Whatever it was, it seemed too big to discuss over PMs. Letting it play out on its own may have been better. That's my take.

I think so too.

I don't care how many threads of fighting, swearing, complaining and inappropriate images are posted, I'm always going to close them. I don't understand how any sensible person can think it useful to leave these kinds of threads open.
In fairness, I suppose there were a couple threads closed last night that probably wouldn't have been under any other circumstances. But it was an extreme situation that doesn't happen very often. The point needs to be made that discussion of other members board behavior is not a valid topic on the Cantina. It's a matter between the members involved and the Administration. No good can come of people gossiping about it and making their own judgments on the situation publicly. Chances are they don't know the full story anyways so it only makes matters worse. So if you really feel you have to say something about it, all you have to do is contact us privately. I guarantee you that you will get more accomplished that way.

I think the Admins here do a great job. Take it from one who's been here with them since the beginning. It's a lot of work for JA, Palp and now Mandard to keeps these forums running as well as they do. I'm responsible for moderating and sweeping a large number of forums at work and I can tell you I count it a blessing when we only have to delete 20 posts in a day. More often we're talking thousands of posts myself and others have to delete. Count yourself lucky to have the admins you have. Not only are they good, but this whole community is great. Better that a few good threads get deleted than this whole community go down the drain. Keep up the good work guys Posts: 1344 | From: OH | Registered: Jun 1999
