Can we hear what is going on behind closed doors. I was lead to believe that you guys in the Moderators feedback were to update us with info regarding NN? Am I right or wrong?

Right now, it's mostly troll reports. A few banner requests. The last pruning. Not much happening lately.

Can't you discuss those ideas with us common folk?

quote:"What goes on at the Moderators Area? Why is it private?"
The Moderators Area is a forum for the Moderators and Administrators to talk about board issues. Most of the topics involve relatively minor issues such as graphics, UBB errors, troll reports, etc. It is kept private for convenience and also to allow Moderators to speak their minds without judgment or comment by the general membership.

OFFICIAL MODERATOR BOARD SUMMARY for the fiscal quarter ending October 15, 2001
1. "Can we have a new forum banner? Yaaaay!"
2. "Man, them trolls suck."
3. "Members of other SW message boards may be trying to mess with us. That's a really stupid thing to do."
4. "Trolls be all like trippin' an' stuff, yo."
5. "You have ten minutes to sort through seventy-five pages worth of threads before I prune them all. PSYCH! I extended the deadline another eight months! Boy, the look on your face was priceless, lemme tell ya."
6. "Trolls: My 492-Page Doctoral Thesis on How Parental Neglect and Glandular Inferiority Have Directly Interfered with Nightly's Daily Operations."
7. "Some longtime Nightly members are doing stupid things to other longtime Nightly members. Maybe we should organize classes on morals and ethics for the lot of them."
8. "Help! Trolls! MOOOOOOOOOOOOMMYYYYYY!"
9. "*koff*koff*ThirdAdmin*koff*koff*"
10. "I got more dead-troll notches on my belt than you! "
* * * * *
You'd be surprised how little I'm exaggerating.

Jesus Christ, do you people think we have private parties in the mod forum???? It's just for announcing ultra-damn boring crap, like "There's a troll in such-and-such a forum." Good God, do you really need a damn update on that???

I don't mind. I just think that there should be more discussion with us on what is happening.

Its there business. There doesn't need to be any discussion with us about it. Its none of our concern, except the fact that so people would just like know, just to know.

Like it's been stated, several times already, if we do discuss something important there that's worth the members' time to read, then it'll be posted for all to see. I think we can drop this now...

Quite frankly I don't care what goes on in the Moderators forum... My only issue is that we were told we'd get updates. That's what JA told us he'd do. You can update us every once in a while and simply say that not much is being talked about in the Moderators forum... That would be curious though, and sad. I think one of the major bonuses of having good Moderators is that they can come to the Admins or each other and generate ideas and ways to improve the entire board. Let's have Moderators that present ideas and new thoughts to us and each other in an attempt to better Nightly. oh well... nevermind

Hmm, that looks pretty boring. One or two decent topics, but mostly dull.

Lord, that would be ideal. [dreamy faraway look]
I applaud the idea of regularly scheduled Mod-forum updates, but I'm afraid they'd become a bit of a joke after a while.
Hypothetical example:
* * * * *
JULY 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
1. We had trolls. 2. Someone got around the censor again.
AUGUST 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
1. We had jerks. 2. Someone's wielding their Silky grudge all over the place yet again.
SEPTEMBER 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
1. We had flaming. 2. The Lyceum changed their name to "The Yelling at Cross-Purposes Forum" and needs a new banner. Yes, another one. Yes, we know it's the eighth one this year.
OCTOBER 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
1. We had more trolls. 2. We need separate coundown timers for every video game being released on every console for the next three years.
NOVEMBER 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
(See AUGUST 2001 UPDATE)
DECEMBER 2002 MODERATORS' FORUM UPDATE
Board down entire month while JA upgraded to UBB 6.94182003, which fixes bugs we've never had and gives members the option of writing all their posts in "Wingding" font.
* * * * *
...but I'm belaboring the point needlessly. Again.
I'd love to be in a position where I had the free time to brainstorm new ideas that would have some sort of positive impact on The Way Things Are. Perhaps when the Cantina gets to the point where Torch and I don't have to waste all our time purely on routine security detail, personally, I'd love to include Process Improvement* as a long-term objective.
* Sorry, workplace terms sneaking out against my will. Blasted day job...

NumberSix is like that movie where the dog with no legs fights for the acceptance within the kung fu community of his trailblazing and unpredictable new style - ****ing hilarious.

Hey, I included a dead-serious answer:

And Pepper, what the heck movie is that?
