Hey, if there can be a James Bond Forum, why not a Matrix forum? It's got a significant enough following at this board am I right? So if anyone else thinks so, please feel free to sign the petition.

I think that would be cool. I liked the Matrix and the Philosophical questions explored in the movie and with two more Matrix movies on the way, there should be a lot to chat about.
However... most of the Star Wars fanboys on this site hate the Matrix since it beat Episode I at the Oscars.

It'd be cool for Matrix fans, but I don't believe that the fanbase would hardly be large enough.

I think the Matrix Fans on this Forum outnumber the James Bond fans. And that site has almost no activity.
And yeah its sad, but Star Wars fans feel threatened by any sort of trillogy which they feel challenges their own.

I'm gonna get flame for this, but I can honestly say I don't give a sh!t about Star Wars, really. I too love the Matrix, and would love a forum. Consider this my signature.

Nothing against you and no offense, but if you don't like Star Wars, how did you find Nightly? Just curious.

There's two more films coming. It certainly isn't as though the Matrix is a dead issue. And people who truely appreciate the film for what it is would love a place to chat it up. I know I'd post there.
So let's have ourself a frickin' Matrix board, eh?

It makes sense. It is going to be as big as Harry Potter or LOTR. And they have boards dedicated them. Of course they are based on well established books. But still I can see how a Matrix Board makes sense.
Whatver happen to the guy "DarthMaulLives" He was a Matrix fanatic and even had his own thread where he defended the Matrix. If he was here, he'd sign the petition definitely.

The now dead Wizard World board. I mainly post at the Star Trek forum. I don't mind Star Wars. I mean, I 'll watch the movies, but they are not at the top of my list of movies to see.

I was talking to JA about a year ago about adding a Matrix forum but he said not until a lot closer to the films release. I don't think it should be added until like two or three months before Reload is released. Its not like there are Matrix books or more than movie to discuss. There's not much you can talk about but I say when the spoilers start coming, then we should add that board

The reasoning behind the LotR, Bond, Indi, and Trek forums is because there are books upon books, movies, games, and other ways to talk about them.
A Matrix forum however would be kind of hard to keep up because it has less to talk about. What would you talk about after the movie had been out for a few months and there wasn't much juicy spoiler stuff to talk about?
I myself would love a Matrix forum but there just isn't enough to talk about to keep the forum going between movies.

I love Matrix, its my favorite movie of all time. I have the DVD and watch it almost twice a week so I will fully support and help in anyway possible!!!!!

I agree, the Matrix rules. With the new movies coming out, it deserves its own forum.

The fact that there isn't a ton of Matrix stuff out there could be an asset to the forum...we could explore or own new and exciting Matrix ideas! I think it could attract some folks, too.

Yeah I think there should be a Matrix, it's got a much bigger fan base than James Bond has here, maybe even bigger than the Indiana Jones fan base. There are more than enough people here who would post on it.
I am a Star Wars fan and proud of it however the Matrix is one of my favourite films...

For those who dont think there would be a lot to dicuss at a Matrix forum click here and here.
Not only is there a Matrix film, but there is a huge series of Matrix comics at http://www.whatisthemartix.com. There is the book, The Art of the Matrix, secret information that can be found at the website, personal reflections, there is the news of the upcoming sequels, the soon to be released AniMatrix film, dicussions of what could happen in the upcoming sequels, there are other movies made the the Watchowski Brothers that can be discussed, artists who worked on the Matrix who's other work can be examined (ie. Geof Darrow), influences (which the Matrix has many) and the possibility of another trillogy, and of course, the obligatory discussions on why the Matrix "sucks" or "rules".
There is just as much if not more to discuss than there is on forums like James Bond and Indiana Jones board regardless of how much actual Matrix stuff there is out there. The Matrix is definetly deserving of its own forum.

Yet another post from me in support of the Matrix thread. I nominate Axis to Moderate it if we get it. He's one of the biggest Matrix fans I know. (BTW, if you get the job, you better help me get a mod job. Remember, I know how to find you, man.)
