I disagree. I'm not reading that Yogie wants it both ways. I'm reading that Yogie wants consitency, all her posts got canned, but this one didn't.
So what's the deal? Do we allow people to make light of tragedy or don't we? Also, are we PG or aren't we?
Of course no hard and fast rule could ever satisfy everyone and there would always be room for interpretation, that is why Mandard prefers to let things go on a case-by-case basis at the Moderators' discretion.
I, personally, feel like the mods/admins dropped the ball on this one.
But I still love them anyway.

Consitency yes. But Yogie is not consistant and many of her topics/replies are not deleted. That's where the problem lies. Yogie found Kwan's thread humorus enough at first to tell him that the exact same thing should happen to him. I can't help but wonder if that reply being deleted, is the basis of this thread; despite her claims otherwise.

FJ - right on the money! You could count the second unto my being baned if I ever posted a thread rejoicing about some christians being burned or somesuch. And rightfully so. But Kwan posting a thread which turns out to be most despicable? No problem, it stays open

I don’t see anything particularly wrong with the thread. It was a legitimate article. Sure, some of the reactions weren’t in good taste, but if I had to close every thread where somebody was offended or upset by another member’s reply, I don’t think people would be very happy (not to mention that I wouldn’t have much free time). I certainly don’t want to encourage it, but this kind of behavior isn’t a new thing. This is an internet message board. It's not a tea party. People will be opinionated, cynical, outspoken, offensive, controversial, belligerent and annoying. If anybody finds this unacceptable, I’m wondering how you got comfortable here in the first place. Everybody has to put up with a certain amount of crap that they really don't like because the alternative is not very appealing. I’m sure many of you are familiar with message boards that are much more strict in making sure that nobody’s ever offended by anything. We’re not one of them. If that’s the kind of place people are looking for, I suggest they look elsewhere. I prefer to let people have some measure of freedom because I think it’s lame and boring to have a community where anything that even possibly might be considered offensive or upsetting to anybody is forbidden. Of course there has to be limits, but I don’t think that thread is breaking them.
Not to mention that this is all moot anyways. Any time a discussion over a thread lasts days longer than the thread in question leads me to believe that it wasn’t a very pressing issue in the first place.
And then there’s the old Lando problem. Honestly, I don’t know why the thread got moved. I’ve never been in favor of moving threads from Cantina to Lando. If it’s considered inappropriate, then it should be closed, edited, deleted or whatever, not moved to Lando. But what’s done is done. It doesn’t need to be moved back. A dead thread should remain dead.
And finally, please leave all the personal grudges out of it. We all know who doesn’t like who, so we don’t need to be reminded. Yogie’s not exactly my favorite member, but it’s not hard to address a concern for its face value without jumping to conclusions and restarting old arguments. That goes for everybody.

silky... i appreciate what you are saying, but i'm with mandard. lets keep this about the thread, and not about the personal contempt you feel for yogie. if a person making a request like this is grounds to bring up every single incident they've ever been involved in... i shudder to think....

It wasn't about my feelings for Yogie, but her own actions and how they conflict with themselves. If you'd read what I wrote, you'd see that. It's totally moot at this point anyway.
