I was under the impression that, with the exception of Lando (to an extent), this whole place was a PG board. It's usually enforced, but hasn't been the past couple weeks. I personally could care less either way, but if we're going to say this place is something then we should stay with that format.

I'm quite certain that's not what she meant at all.

I'm not certain what she's getting at, though. Like you, I'm under the impression that nightly is PG. Except maybe lando, which is but allowed to push past it.
BTW I'm part of a family and I post here.

It is held to the same standards the rest of Nightly is.
The majority of what goes on in Lando can/has and is done in other forums.
There is a minority of threads that slip past the radar in Lando, but when they are seen they are dealt with by MD or KKBB with notable assists by MP.
In contrast the Cantina has a minority of threads that also slip past the radar, but when seen they are dealt with.
Also the only major difference between Lando and the rest of Nightly or more specifically the Cantina is that each forum has a particular group of posters. Other than that it's the same. All other divisions seem to be very false.
Finally it's context, context, context... it's not the topic but instead how it's discussed. That idea seems to sometimes allow for things that are above the line, but really it isn't.

I know that's exactly what she didn't mean. But such a vague post doesn't help much.

That's a start, if that's the case.
There's nothing explicit in the post. If the subject matter is offensive, that same "rule" would be applied to other boards, e.g. Movies, L.I.E. -- a critically-acclaimed film -- could never be discussed.

I don't recall dumping threads in Lando. I may have, but it was likely a single occurrence.

Torch, you just keep telling yourself that. There is NO WAY that the majority of what is posted in lando would be allowed in SWC. Nor do I believe it'd be allowed in the Cantina.
MacLynLecgla, I figured that's what she was referring to. My point is why be coy about it? Why not just come right out and ask about it?

I'm afraid I find that to be a cop-out. I'll say again that, I, personally, am not offended by anything that's gone on in that thread. However I just find it odd that time and again we're reminded how the Cantina is a PG forum and threads are often closed on that notion but this thread continues when it's obviously not PG material. Kinda hypocritical to me is all I'm saying. I'm not arguing that the subject matter is offensive, what I'm arguing is that its not in the bounds of what the Cantina is all to often claimed to be. If this thread is allowed to stay, hey, fine by me, but how about we stop kidding ourselves and not call the Cantina a PG forum anymore?
By the way, Silky, I think LP was vague in her post for a small fear of being flamed off her butt for posting a negative opinion about this thing.

Holy cow, I had to review all of Cantina's pages.
There's plenty of threads that can be argued on similar terms.
Using a benign term like "PG" is more of a cop-out than anything. "PG" couldn't be applied to most of what's aired on television -- at any time of the day.
I think the issue people have is that it's getting replies and not falling off the first page.

If attention wasn't wanted than why post it publicly? I'd happily accept PMs, emails, and IMs.

I don't see why this is turing into a "Why was Lady Palpatine so vague" thread anyway, you all know what she was referring to now, so if you want to know why she was so vague, ask her on your own. I'm not trying to be mean, but I really can't be 100% sure on why she was vague in her question, I just took a guess. I'm sure when she gets back here she'll answer that for you herself.

That's partially on you then Silky and then partially on the design of the forum. Much as the problems I brought down on myself were on me during the first month of being a mod of the Cantina. BUT also SWC is primarily a female board... that is it's design. So on top of your style and preferences as mod, Star Wars Chicks does have a specific topic dispite it being an open topic community forum. And there is nothing wrong with that... as that is just what SWC is supposed to be.
The administration has closed threads in Lando that cross the line. The majority of threads are fine.
Yogie... Threads have been moved to Lando. That's true. Many reasons have been behind those decisions I'm sure. Is there a problem with that practice? Maybe... all depends on the specific threads and reasons I think.
You guys worry too much... if you have a specific problem with a thread PM or email MD about it. I do it all the time, sometimes MD agrees... sometimes he doesn't. He's the final say. I move on.

Actually, we don't know at all, Jason. LP has said nothing to clarify. It's all been assumption on our parts. We're only addressing the most likely candidate.

Well I can tell you for a fact that this is indeed what she's referring to. It's not an assumption, I know. And as I said before, as for why she was so vague, only she can answer that for you.
I really wish I could finish my thoughts right off without having to come back and edit, lol. Anyway, I wanted to respond to what Torch said about PM Mandard about problems with threads. Certainly that could be done, but why does that have to be the rule of thumb? What is the Feedback forum for if not to voice comments on certain aspects of these boards, positive or negative?

If you don't want to read something, don't read it.
If you don't want it at the top of the page, don't reply to it.
Don't blame others for your actions.
If you have an issue with me or my posts, talk to me, don't start vague complaints like this.
And don't complain to your admin boyfriend when you have a personal grudge.

JS, I think it's best to PM the mod or Admin first as it gives them an oppertunity to deal with the precieved problem before the entire community makes it into something far bigger than what it is.

Red, again, this is the Feedback Forum, where you post your thoughts and comments on threads. She had no obligation to talk to you, this is where you can go to comment on things. By the way there is an area of your post which you should edit, please.

Ok, since that is the case, I would like to complain about a poster who takes her personal feelings and grudges to her admin boyfriend who reprimands me on a very rude and hurtful PM.
