Does anybody know how to hide your number when calling someone who has CALLER ID and a BLOCK against private numbers in California?

Cuz like, when I call, I press *67 to hide my number, so that when they look on their caller ID it says 'private number'. But this person got a block against 'private numbers' and when I call a message comes on that goes 'this number does not acccept calls from blocked numbers or private numbers or something, press *something to un-hide your number and we will connect you' or something to that effect.

Um...is there any way around that? Pls help. I swear I'm not crankcalling anyone. It's like, this really convuluted thing where I'm lying to someone about where I live and I don't want them to know but I still wanna talk to them and I swear I'm not a stalker and I swear this other person isn't like, you know, avoiding me or something.

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

No, there is no way around that. If there were, it would defeat the purpose of paying for such a service.

Maybe through a cell phone? Like basically my sister got a cell-phone in Cali...but she lives in NY now. But her phone number still has the California area-code even though she lives in NY. And it doesn't cost any money for long distance because her plan includes long distance and local calls equaling the same minute.

So anyways if you can get a cell phone from the state where your "pretending" to live in for example, MN...and you really live in NY...when you call the person then the MN phone number should pop up on their caller ID even if your calling from NY.

But gee man is it worth all that trouble lol.

And why do you want to lie about where you live? Sounds like either you ARE a stalker or that the girl is one and you don't want her stalking you. [Wink] [Razz]
