Could you please make one if room was available? It would be of much help for debating issues and would be a good spot to check up on old issues that may be of some interest.

I think that will depend on whether or not we actually prune the Lyceum, which I'm not sure if we do.

The Lyceum has been pruned just like every other board. However, archiving in general is really not a very attractive option. People simply don't go to the Archives very much so it's not worth the space to save tons of threads. In the last prune, we deleted about half of what we had in them and I'm still slowly picking away at the prequels archive. So no, we're not looking to add any new archives.

If there is a thread you would like to see saved, a better idea would be to bring it to the top whenever a pruning comes around (which only happens maybe once a year for the Lyceum). Not only does this keep the thread from being deleted, it also lets the thread be seen by new people, which it probably won't get if it's stuck in an Archive.

Then why don't we get rid of the Archives all together and replace them with new forums. There has been tons of suggestions of forums and you could put those in.

Because it is nice to keep some stuff. We just didn't need quite as much as we used to have. A lot of what was in there was fairly useless, so we did some streamlining.

Also, I will again clarify that deleting other boards, including the Archives, is not an effective argument for adding new ones. I know that it's an intuitive argument, but please trust me that it's not as significant an issue as people seem to think it is. Due to the fluctuations of the boards between prunes, it would take a very large amount of cleared space to make a serious dent in our overall average. The only boards that could grant us this are boards that don't make any sense to be deleted.

Unless anyone wants to suggest that we get rid of Lando or something. [Wink]
