To Silky: Again I don't care if you use it or not... but I'm bored. What don't you like about that darker one (#4 of this post)? It flows with the SWC banner well, but maybe an even better flow could be pulled from the SWC banner's scheme? Any ideas?
Back On topic: repost for the new page... updated:
The following links are images, approx 50kbs in size. They are mock-ups of Nightly's main page and a thread to show you certain color scheme ideas. The images all use Darth Whoever's awesome ideas for new buttons and a banner.
1. Prequels/Trek scheme | a thread's view ... 4 shades of blue, golden "clicked on" links, light blue links and white font. The colors are pulled from the Prequels and Star Trek forums, the Focal Hosting ad banner and Darth Whoever's banner/button combo.
2. Modified Prequels/Trek scheme | a thread's view ... 3 shades of blue, black, golden "clicked on" links, light blue links and white font. In this modified version of #1, the lighter blue is removed and replaced with black. The result is a much more "Nightly" look, but updated and coordinated with Darth Whoever's banner and buttons.
3. Neon Purple | a thread's view ... 3 shades of purple, black, golden links and white font. This doesn't really work with Darth Whoever's banner or buttons, but it was an interesting color concept... I thought.
4. A Star Wars Chicks forum concept ... darker shades of purple and black make up this scheme, less of a neon aspect to it. There is pink "clicked on" links and a shade of purple for the links and white font. Created it just because.
5. Another Star Wars Chicks forum concept ... dark purple moved to replace the black, a lighter but still darker purple replaces the previous purple. There is pink "clicked on" links and a shade of purple for the links and white font. Created it just because.
6. The 000033/Blue scheme | a thread's view ... another mod of the "Prequels/Trek" concept. The "Trek" blue is replaced with a slate, almost gray blue. Everything else is the same.
7. The 000033/Nightly Blue scheme | a thread's view ... another mod of the "Prequels/Trek" concept. The "Trek" blue is replaced with a Nightly's blue. Everything else is the same. NOTE: This Nightly blue is actually lighter than the actual Nightly blue. I realized this after posting. Seee #9 for this concept as originally intended with Nightly's blue.
8. The 000033/Gray scheme | a thread's view ... another mod of the "Prequels/Trek" concept. The "Trek" blue is replaced with dark gray. Everything else is the same.
9. The 000033/Corrected Nightly Blue scheme | a thread's view ... another mod of the "Prequels/Trek" concept. The "Trek" blue is replaced with the correct shade of Nightly's blue. Everything else is the same.

I don't think it flows at all. I'm sorry you're bored. It looks like you have your hands full with the other designs. If not, I'm pretty sure there are forums that haven't changed their color schemes. Please feel free to work on those. As I stated before, we at SWC already vote to stay the same. If and when we decide to change it we at SWC will decide on colors and all that ourselves. Thanks.

Everybody here seems to want to stick with the space theme, which is cool, but I had a little bit more drastic change in mind. Keeping with the 'night time' theme that 'Nightly.Net' lends itself to I thought it might be neat to change to more of an Autumn/Dusk/Earth Tones feel.
These are all JPEGs but can be converted into GIFs if necessary.
PS-instead of linking directly to the pic files I whipped out an HTML file so you should be able to see everything better now. Oh, and sorry about the poor quality on the screen shot.

Nerco. The brown is kinda cool. I think you need richer shades of it though to truly pop. You should mod that with a new font color too. You banner is neat, original. Kinda reminds me of of the color scheme on Star Trek Nemesis.

If you don't think THT's color scheme flows well with SWC then what about it's current theme? Pink and Dark Blue?
THT's color scheme accents the buttons and banner. Mind elaborating a little more by what you mean when you say "It doesn't flow very well."?

I don't really like the dark purple scheme either... it's a little bright, even though it's darker than the original concept. I'm really sensitive to bright things, and I would actually like a REALLY dark purple/black scheme, but I have a feeling most other people wouldn't. Also, I think SWC is cool how it is.
Re: the merchandise page, I just got bored and made NN merchandise. It actually no relation to the subject of the thread, but I'm one to be random.
Of the schemes you did, I like the modified Trek one, but I'd like to see what it would look like if the black was taken out and made a very dark blue (something like #000033 in hex or 0,0,20 in RGB) and the light blue was made a little darker. That's just my personal opinion, that it would look better. But I would have to see it to make a judgement on it.

It looks too dark, drab, and muddy. IMO. Please reread my two previous posts. We voted, we're staying the same.

This thread isn't about SWC. I suggest that all other discussions on possible changes be taken to another thread, preferably in SWC itself. Thanks guys.

I'm just patiently waiting for a possible background image by DW that fits his banner and button scheme.

The dark blue in those IS 000033. I'll work on making the light blue darker though.

BTW, DW... yeah the 000033 shade is non-dithering. So it's the same no matter what, but I can only assume that when it's place with other colors and in a greater amount it appears to be brighter. When it's just by itself it looks really dark.

I think the better term is "default." It allows boards to opt out of whatever design could be chosen. I'm kinda surprised SWC doesn't have its own color scheme.
