Anyway if they must stay the mods really should set up some rules on them.
Already at least two mods have made sticky topics just to repeat this topic on their boards. What's the purpose of this besides to just make a sticky topic for no reason?
They almost certainly wouldn't have posted them at all had the upgrade only been for user-preference and PM notification. But because they have this new power they're at the top of the forums instead of being non-existant.
A couple more potential problems:
1. Posting of rules in sticky threads (the forum message at the top is sufficient and non-invasive).
2. "Official" threads being jammed down our throats even more (almost always a negative) by always being at the top.
3. Mods just making sticky threads because they like their own topics.

BTW I have a suggestion for UBB. They should make semi-sticky threads.
Allow them to drop normally on the first page...but once it reaches the bottom it stays there.
That seems a better way to keep wanted threads on the first page without forcing people to wade through 5 sticky threads before finding the first truly fresh one.

Oh, awesome. I am glad we can finally set the board time to our time zone.
Now if I can just remember that Nightly is not an hour ahead anymore. LOL
