I think we should have a X-MEN forum. Movies, comics, books, and debates are just some of the topic that could be discussed. I don't want the job as moderator but I'm sure they're others than can offer their services.

So how do you guys feel about it?

X-Men definately has just as much topic material as Final Fantasy if not more. And arguably a larger fan base.

I'd be a frequent poster in an X-Men board. [Thumbs Up]

Not to be a downer, but is there anything on this board to show there is support for an X-Men forum? Is there even an X-Men thread anywhere?

Several in the Movies forum; one in SWC; this one here; and one in the Comics forum, although X-Men threads do pop up there every so often. We also have the occasional discussion of Grant Morrison's New X-Men on the "What Was the Last Comic You Read?" thread.

(Noted only for informational purposes. I have no fully formed opinion yet.)

The ones in the movie forum are because the movie just came out. As is the one in Chicks.

I'm just saying there should be some other form of interest other than impulse.

*Ask these 3 questions first before you want this forum*

X-Men does have a larger fan base in general....

But on nightly?

X-Men does have more to talk about than FF but would it hold up?

If yes to the last question.. How long would the information hold up in a forum of its own?

*if you can honestly answer those questions then by all means go for it...*

I myself am only skeptical of how long it would hold up and if there is enough of a fan base at nightly to keep it going...

X-Men definately has all the stuff for a forum though..

well, look at FF. sure, we had a thread completely devoted to FF in the VG forum, but we couldn't really discuss everything we wanted in that little thread. now, look at the FF forum. it's BOOMING. hasn't slowed down since the day it's been up. to have your own forum of a certain topic, really opens things up. sure, there may not be a whole lot of threads going about xmen, but i think there is enough support here at nightly for one. xmen is more than a movie. it's a comic books series, cartoon, millions of videogames, and so on and so forth.

i support it, albeit i'll probably not post much in there. not really and Xmen fan, but not to say there isn't anyone here who isn't, because there are alot.

mandard, i really think you need to take this forum into serious consideration. [Thumbs Up]

Met where was the large support for FF other than a post here and there about wanting a board for it or in the video game fourm?

Just sayin.... but I do think an X Men board would be nice.

The Final Fantasy forum was not an impulse reaction. The thread in the video game forum had more posts than the entire Martrix forum has a whole right now. And the thread here showed there was support for it. How long it will last, time will only tell.

While there is more to discuss about X-Men than FF, there has been no real indication that anyone was interested. Not even in the comic book forum.

How about a Marvel Forum instead. Since after this summer, we will have X-men, X2, Spider-man, Daredevil, Hulk, Blade, and soon Punisher and a bunch more. This way the forum covers everything.

I was actually going to make this same suggestion along with my usual side order of a VHDS [Wink]

Anywho, I believe it could hold its own... it truly depends on the fan-base here at nightly... at the moment it seems that we'd get a lot of impulse posters etc... reacting from the movie and all... which is great, and by the looks of it, it could survive for quite some time, for it seems like they are going to be making a chain of these X-Men movies...

I mean, I am a big fan of the movies and used to be a big fan of the cartoon... never got the opportunity to read the comics here is Australia... but yea, i know a little about it and with a forum would probably be visiting quite frequently. I imagine it would do quite well.

Only this thread will truly tell... although not many post here in Feedback... meh!

Here's to the X-Men... for they are Xtreme! [Razz]

Just to add more gasoline to the fire...how about a Superhero Board?

You can't really fully discuss the new X-Men movie inside the books and comics board, the same as you can't really fully discuss the comics inside a X-Men thread in the movie board.

And yes, since it seems that Hollywood is about to drown us with many, many more of these types of comic book films, people will likely ask for a Punisher board, a Hulk board and so on.

I think the story has a complete range of appeal that could draw a crowd to it the same as the Potter and to a sligth degree the Lord of the Rings forum. However, it will be slow in the beginning and would rely on the dedication of people like those of us in favor to make sure it is a success.

And btw, I've made a contribution in X-Men threads in the Comics forum just recently.

After the success of this movie it's bound to be a long running franchise. With that, the cartoons, & comics, X-men is gonna be IT! People are going to be re-interested in the old stuff too. ABC had a mini-marathon Sunday morn of the old show and I forgot how much I liked it.

It's gotta have it's own board. [Smile] [Thumbs Up]

You make a valid point, Seth... but, it's the same with Star Wars... I mean, I wouldnt have considered this forum if they werent making another movie. You're right though, I mean the hype for Star Wars Ep II was huge for about 2 months, then it died down in prequels... I think the big thing is spoilers and rumours etc... if we have access to those and places like that, then the forum can be kept alive... we can fill it with Speculations and other types of things.

That kinda came out all disjointed... it was better in my mind, but my mind forgot it... meh... i'll think of it again later and post again!

What about a Marvel board? That way it would cover all the current Comic Book to Silver Screeen phenoms.
