I still don't see why you cant discuss the films in the Comics forum. I don't see Starscream's Ghost closing film threads, or people even starting them.

Well, if no one is starting them, then he wouldn't be closing them either Posts: 2946 | From: Jacksonville, FL U.S.A. | Registered: Oct 2002

I wouldn't close a thread in the comic forum that dealt with a film based on a comic series. In fact it should be considered that a thread for X2 in the movie forum and one in the comic forum might produce different results since one would be from a movie point of view while the other from comic fan's point of view. But in any case, there hasn't been an overwhelming amount of X-Men topics in the comic forum lately. As for a Marvel forum, that would be redundant considering we do have a forum devoted to comics already.

I'd be a frequent poster in an X-Men board.
I could not agree more!
awww...is brycey wisey upset that his VG board has died down considerably since the FF board opened up??

Eh, I just don't know. I'm not convinced that there would be enough traffic once the film dies down. I'm starting to distinguish more harshly between a topic that a lot of people simply like and a topic that can actually sustain a consistent amount of discussion.
A much more likely possibility would be a dedicated comics board. As I said in the other thread, the split between books and comics has always bothered me a little. I feel X-Men alone might be too narrow, but a board that handles general comics discussion as well as the comic-book-movie run-offs from Movies appeals to me a lot more.

Maybe it's just because I'm old, but that idea appeals to me a lot more than the "Comics/Animation" package that others have been advocating. A "Comics/Animation" board makes as much sense to me as a combined "Movies/Books" forum.
(Would anyone on Nightly simply throw a fit if Nightly didn't have a designated "Books" discussion area of any kind? I feel evil suggesting such a thing, but I gotta wonder.)

I agree that dropping the books from the comic board is the way to go. Neither topic is going to reach their full potential otherwise. I would also change the forum description to include comics as well as comic related films and animated series.

I didn't want to kill Books. It was a viable board even before Comics came into the picture. Certainly not one of the most active, but it deserves a chance to stand on its own again.
