You know, when you cut and paste a paragraph, and then post a graemlin, then the words disappear. I hate that. It's not incorrigable, but it's a real niucsence.
And I don't care that I spelled noosense wrong either.

Weird. You just cut and paste text, click a graemlin and your text disappears? I can't seem to duplicate this. Is this on quick reply, full reply or both? Does it do this for every graemlin? Are all of you using IE or could this be a browser-specific bug?
Help us help Infopop.

I tried it and it does it to me. I use full reply, and have IE. I tried several graemlins.
Interesting.

MD, Cut and paste this. Highlight this and then right click or use the edit tab at the top of the window and select cut or copy. Then hit new reply, new thread, new poll, quote or whatever. Paste this into the message window and then click a graemlin without doing anything else in the message window. If you did it right this message should self destruct.

Still works fine for me. Very odd. Just curious, is there anyone else who doesn't have this problem? I can't believe I'm the only one.
We'll report the bug, but I hope Infopop can duplicate it or else they'll have trouble fixing it.

Nope. Works just dandy for me. Perhaps you have the text selected before you select the graemlin?

Yeah, this symptom doesn't occur for me either when I test it. I'm using IE6 SP1.

See, that's what I was thinking. Are you guys cutting, then pasting, then un-highlighting the pasted text, then hitting the graemlin button? Because that's what you should be doing. If the pasted text is still highlighted when you hit the button, yeah, all your highlighted text is gonna disappear.

The thing is, it doesn't show highlighted when you paste. Normally it isn't anywhere else either. However testing it out, I pasted, clicked in the reply box and then on a graemlin. It worked, no deleting of the pasting.

Yeah, it's standard Windows procedure for any text that's highlighted to be replaced with whatever you type next, even if that's simply clicking on a graemlin. I'm not sure if pasted text is supposed to remain highlighted (it's not on my computer), but if it is, that's probably determined by your browser, not the UBB.

I don't have this problem. I tried what you said step by step THT. I was thinking that it - the text - might be highlighted when you click on an emoticon, too, but ya'll said no. Try this: After you've pasted the text, click on the spot where you want the emoticon to go. Then wait, for the 'blinking' cursor. And then click on the emoticon.

I wasn't born yesterday. It's not a simple matter of hightlighted text.

That's not it. I know this because I can type anything else after I cut and paste...just not post a graemlin.
Copy/paste, then type...fine:
MD, Cut and paste this. Highlight this and then NEUTER YOURSELF
I copy and pasted a bit from THT, and what I typed was in caps. haha! What I said sounds kind of funny if you read it together.
Copy/paste, then graemlin...not fine:
There's no text before the smiley because it disappeared.

Yeah, I've tried it many times, Dana. I swear it just doesn't do it on my computer.
Like I said, we'll pass it on, but when you have bugs that can't be duplicated by everybody, it usually means there's something else involved here.

Yep. It's doing it for me as well. Text is not highlighted. The only way it'll temain is if I type something additional, like a space, before I add a Graemlin. Otherwise, it replaces the text. Curious......

I just figured something out, if you type a space before you start the graemlin it will work. Besides, you need to anyway on a few to make them work. If not then this happens:) instead of this
