The pruning deadline was passed down from the old Admins to us Mods in the Mods Forum back on October 14th. Didn't Bryce or Mori say anything to you guys?
(I had nothing to do with any of this, and I haven't checked in there much lately (...yet...), so pardon my curiosity.)

Yeah, it got pruned. Like Six said, it was actually supposed to happen a couple weeks ago but got delayed. I didn't know if Mori had put up a warning or not but the last several prunes in VG had no threads requested to save so I didn't think anything of it.

well, it sounds like to me bryce hasn't been doing his job. i don't mean to complain, but the last couple of prunes we've had, we've had threads, and several members have asked for certain threads to be archived. has bryce not been requesting those threads to be archived??
i don't mean to make a big deal out of this, because it's nothing to get pissy over, but it would have been nice to have had a warning because there were a few threads i can think of off the top of my head that i would have enjoyed having saved.

Well, there are threads archived from VG so I don't think there were problems with past prunes. We've certainly not ignored anyone's requests on purpose. But we will try and make sure that people get a heads-up from now on.

and yes, i know you guys wouldn't purposely ignore prune requests. bryce is usually pretty good about giving us prune warnings, for the four years i've been here. i dunno, i just found it kinda odd that we didn't get one, just must have forgotten, which really isn't a big deal.

The threads requested in the past for the most part have been a joke, only the quality threads have been saved. It's my understanding that only quality threads are to be archived to cut down on used bandwidth.
As for the current prune I was not aware of it. Sorry...

it's all good, as i said before it's not really a big deal. i was mainly just curious as to why nothing was said about a prune.
i do agree, a lot of threads that are asked to be archived are indeed a joke, but there are some that have fantastic discussions in them...the one's that Xam doesn't pollute anyways.
