Due to factors in my life affecting the amount of time I get to spend online in general, and at Nightly specifically, I have chosen to step down as administrator. I'm not leaving, but I haven't really been able to devote the kind of time lately that Nightly and its members need and deserve, so I have no doubt that this is the best way to go.
Taking my place will be the Lando System's cantankerous moderator, Tank. Most of you know him and know that he's been around since Nightly first popped up (and I'm willing to bet that most of you who haven't interacted with him at least know of him). I have every bit of confidence that Tank will be an outstanding addition to Nightly's adminstrative team.

I like Tank and I'm sure he'll do a good job. But Nightly has been around for 5 years now and we've had 8 Admins now and not one of them has been of the female persuasion. That is not really fair at this point to the many qualified female moderators we've had on Nightly. Mara, JC, Silky, Destiny, Andorus could all do a good job. I'm not trying to take anything away from Tank but it's starting to look like what we in the South call a Good Old Boys Club around here.

I agree that we have many qualified and well-respected female members, many of whom were also suggested and seriously considered. But, just because there hasn't been a female admin in 5 years shouldn't automatically mean that we change that.
You make it sound as though Nightly's administration has been actively avoiding the possibility of a female admin. I don't understand how allowing gender to be a deciding factor would be fair to Nightly.

So truth be told YES I am indeed going to become all adminy. I know to a lot of you this is funny, to others it is cool, and to others still it is bad cause you dislike me. Well for those members who I clash with, I want you to know that all jokes aside, i'm not goin to just ban you for arguing with me. That would be silly. So long as the discussion and arguing stays flame free (and I will be better about this myself as well) everything should be cool.
What it comes down to though, is that I love nightly and I have been coming here for years. N6 and Maker were added as admins simply because two admins wasn't enough to watch over the large population nightly has. I visit most of the forums, and I know most of the users, so I was happy to help out.
This isn't some sort of "take-over," it is simply that some admins need more time IRL. Mandard has treated nightly like a full time job for years. Six has wedding plans. Maker is doing some intensive studying and you can't fault them for that. I am just here to help.
Oh and (bans LOB).
