I'm pleased to announce the unveiling of the new Community Supporter Program (ComSup).
Nightly.Net has stayed alive financially these past 5 years due to donations made by our generous members. The first Community Supporter program recognized these contributions and has been vital to our growth. The new ComSup program is designed to reward our contributors by providing features, benefits and 'perks' to kick your Nightly.Net experience up a notch.
There will be two basic donation levels to choose from:
Gold Package * 5 MBs WebStorage/Webhosting * Email Forwarding * "Gold Supporter" Community Supporter tagline * Quarterly Newsletter from Mods/Admin * Gold level Discounts on NN Merchandise
Platinum Package * 15 MBs WebStorage/Webhosting * Email Address (username@nightly.net) * "Platinum Supporter" Community Supporter tagline * Quarterly Newsletter from Mods/Admin * Platinum level Discounts on NN Merchandise
We will begin taking orders sometime next week... maybe two, at the most Prices and details to come! I'll be the Administrator for this program, so feel free to contact me with any questions you might come up with or just post them in this thread.

Yes indeed, we've been planning a store! The Quarterly Admin/Mod Newsletter will include individual forum reports from each of our moderators and administrators. Basically you get an inside look on what we may be working on or planning.

OH YAY! Discounts...count me in. Where do I send the money to, do you take checks and money orders?
Great idea Rock! And good job for putting all of that together so nicely.

Yes, we'll be taking checks/money orders. We aren't quite ready to start accepting orders though, maybe in the next week or so! We just wanted to let everyone know about the new program.

Unfortunately, no. But your email address does not have to be your username or your real name. You can choose whatever name you'd like, but it must be made up of lowercase letters, digits, dots, hyphens or underscores.

I guess this'll be better answered when you all post the "prices," but will you still indeed be taking smaller donations, at least? I'll gladly throw pitch in, but I'm not keen in putting in all that much.

Just about how much do you have to donate to make you a Platinum or Gold Supporter thing?

Yeah, I want to donate... although my parents probably would be against letting me use their credit card online...

Can we just donate unwanted things? I've got all this junk piled up in my closet that I'll be glad to get it off my hands.

This is an extremely good idea. I definitely have questions about what sort of interface and features the web hosting service will have, but you've said you'll provide those details later, so I'll just look forward to seeing them.

Awesome. I was hoping it wouldn't be one of those browser-only uploading sites, like ThirdAge or Brinkster. FTP = good.
OK, I'll push my luck... How long does the web hosting stay active before a renewal payment would need to be made? Are there going to be various plan lengths, like 6-month plan, 1-year plan, etc?

We'll have 3-Month, 6-Month and Annual payment options available. The webpage/Email accounts will be deleted the day after your membership period ends, so you'll need to get yoru renewal payments in. It'll be my job emailing/PMing you all advance notices of these dates. You'll also be given the account termination date upon membership activation.
