You've never been to Colonial Williamsburg? Civil war reenactments? Renissance fairs?
She's not really lobbying for me, unlike a lot of 12 year olds, Chitlin has one hell of a mind of her own. If she didn't agree, she wouldn't. I promise you.
Randy...did you not see that the History/mythology forum would encompass your paranormal topics? Yup, says so in the description up there...go ahead and read again.

Go History/mythology!
When I think of history/mythology I think of Hitler and Greek gods. My bad...please forgive me.

Tank, or whoever else comes across this first...
Would it be possible to create the top two forums that are voted for? There are a lot of great ideas in the list, it would be a shame to let the others go like that.

That's why I asked for that rotational forum D-Ray. We can use it for History or Mythology as ya'll want it and then when that gets old, we'll really be like humanity in history by screwing it all over and changing it to something different.

Isn't "world events" pretty much the same as "history"? I think another forum for history would be redundant.
I've been trying to get this point across for some time now. lol.
Despite the votes, I would seriously be absolutely shocked if it had any kind of decent traffic after 1 month.
Polotics and world events pertains to current events by the way.

Odd. Why all the historical figures on the banner?

Current Events can be discussed, and have been for quite some time.. in the Lyceum. So it's awful redundant to have TWO or more forums discussing the same current events. So.. to avoid this, you can do one of two things. 1) discuss them in on of the the 5 Lyceum forums. or 2)have the new forum discuss ONLY the past events.
Since everybody wants to avoid option number 1 because "the people are scary". That leaves option 2. And again I say, that I would be shocked if it sustained traffic for more then a month.
Edit: I began writing this in response to a post, but I can't remember for what or why now. lol But the reasoning is still good so i'll leave it here.

these people must also have delusions of grandeur that lead them to believe that the scaries will somehow leave their discussions alone if new forums are implemented. even if said forums still share the lyceum title.
as it is, i doubt i'll visit the lyceum anymore. it was my one-stop for intelligence at one point, but i have no patience for extraneous forums and the meticulous organization that follows.

The current description as Tank stated earlier in this thread... for a history/mythlogy forum:
"A place to discuss ancient cultures and the mythologies that surrounded them. Also a home to modern myths such as the urban legends and paranormal phenomina."
The current description for the Lyceum board: "A forum for discussion and debate on topics ranging from arts and culture, to the paranormal and supernatural, to history and mythology. "
The proposed forum is word for word already in the Lyceum description. It doesn't get any action there.. why make a new forum for it. Paranormal and Supernatural things are also repeated in both descriptions. Culture includes a cultures history or historic events.
It seems to me like we already have this damn forum and nobody wants to use it because of it's name.

I use it for my history threads. Of course, no one ever pays attention to those.

Yeah, I agree... perhaps the old version of the Lyceum should just be renamed "Mythology". Now that the Lyceum has been split up into multiple forums, the original Lyceum is not getting nearly as much traffic. And most of the "History" topics are currently being posted in the Politics/World Events forum.
If we can only have one new forum, I don't think we should waste it on History/Mythology when that particular area of discussion is already fully represented here at Nightly.
Anyone who says that the Politics and World Events forum is only for current events obviously hasn't taken a look at the topics in that forum. If the discussion is only about current events then why are there threads about Reagan's Presidency? I'm sorry but that IS past history, not current events.
The bottom line is that we already have a History forum, because there is no difference/distinction between "history" and "world events".

If the forum were made, we'd have two forums for the same exact thing. So they need to either rename it like you say, or the people can just suck it up and post their threads there as it is.
