I remember back when we had the Alliance and Empire boards, they were a place where a lot of people could go and have fun with each other and really bond. Naturally they did die because they were not listed along with the other forums. I think if we had those two forums back, people would really take to them. I think you should give them a chance to thrive on Nightly again and see the response you get from having those forums back.

What was it that made the RPG forum die? Was it simply a lack of interest? I would love to see some sort of RPG forum back up here on nightly. The RPG forum at the Jedi Council forums do very well, but I love Nightly to death way more so I would like to see a successful RPG forum here.

It was popular at first. I remember I used to post in the star wars RPG all the time. But I guess when I took my Sabbatical from nightly everybody got sad and depressed and abandoned the board...

Yeah, I agree--I remember posting at the Empire way back in the day (with all of those "The Real ___" posters, even, and Yogie and I would talk about samosas all the time ), but with the way Nightly's evolved, it's not particularly feasible now. And even if it were, I'm not sure I'd want to set up a private board that just some people would have access to--we aren't nearly as uptight about cliques and the like anymore (mainly because the worst offenders all left), but still, it's just not worth the hassle of sorting out.
It's possible to start RPG threads up in themed forums, though, right?

There were a lot of people angry about the forums being closed down, and they were right. The Real Mace Windu stated that why couldn't they have just left well enough alone? It didn't hurt anyone to have just left the A/E forums alone. It still had its faithful members who were a part of it and had a lot of fun in them. If Nightly were to get back some sort of RPG forum and get it started up in some sort of thriving manner, there could be some people here at Nightly who would be willing to kick some people in the butt (including me) and get them ethusiastic about haveing a RPG forum, because I know there are a lot of people here who enjoy RPG and wouldn't mind having to work at keeping it up.

SFJ--there was nothing at the Alliance or the Empire that couldn't have been done anywhere else. They were just a waste of space, and I'm speaking as someone who actually did post at the Empire for a while. And the RPG forum was created, and was removed due to lack of activity. They aren't coming back any time soon.

I think the beauty of the A/E boards was that they grew! They weren't created for RPGing, but they developed into boards for such.
Maybe that was exactly the reason why the now kaboomed RPG board went... kaboom. It didn't grow, it wa set up and people expected that it would fucntion right away. it didn't. All of the really great things here at NN took time and chance to start and grow, like the A/E boards, the RGLT or some things over at Lando!

I believe that an RPG forum is the only forum in Nightly.net history to have failed twice. I doubt we'll see it again.

the last RPG forum was a crash and burn. Its only been about a year since they shut it down. Not going to happen.

suggestion- add the rpg element to the printig press- have it be printingpress/rpg just like hystory/mythology and the lot
IF admins aren't willing to ressurrect the rpg forum
there are just some rpgs that don't fit in the forums already allotted

I was a mod for the RPG forum and a part of it's creation. It was nice when we had it, but it slowly began to die off. I'd say that's all in the past and an RPG forum should be left in the past also
