I think we ought to rename the Religion forum from Religion and Philosophy to Religion and Spirituality - when it first opened and the Lyceum was split apart, I thought it was going to be there for religious discussion not a God is real/God is not real forum. It can still be for religious discussion I understand. Philosophy may be incorporated elsewhere easily. Splitting up the Lyceum hardly made a huge difference in stuff under its heading if one takes a look at what happens in the Religion forum nowadays ... I think by renaming it we might move closer to the supposed goal of a less argumentative Religious board.

I understand your frustration, but do you really think calling it Religion & Spirituality is going to change anything? I don't. In this case, the name of the board is defined by the nature of the board, not the other way around. People are going to argue about Religion no matter what so it only makes sense to make it a place for non-religious philosophical thought as well.
And the goal of splitting the Lyceum was not to make the boards less argumentative. That was a hope of mine, but I wasn't really counting on it. The main goal was to take a bloated forum with too broad of a range and separate the categories so they could flourish without getting overwhelmed by the other subjects.
