The server the image is located on won't allow linking. Either choose another image or save the image and host it elsewhere and use that URL.

i can see his avatar, of course I had to load the picture into the address bar first, but after that, it loads up just fine...

Right, because you actually downloaded the file by putting it into the browser. Some servers have a way to disable the showing of images in second party's html files. You've prolly seen some servers actually replace 'stolen' images with alternate images saying "Bandwidth thief" or a vulgar picture, etc.
