On our server, we have a lot of extra resources to spare. So we'd like to offer web hosting for anyone who's interested.
This won't be an official nightly program. It's just something we'll do on the side to make use of our space. If all you want is some webspace to host images or a small site, you're better off with the Supporter program. But if you have your own domain and website and would like to pay smaller hosting fees, you should keep us in mind. Most hosts cram up to 100 sites onto each server to maximize profits. We're not a hosting company so we only host ourselves and anyone else who decides to join. That means we have great flexibility with disk space and bandwidth plus you'll never have to worry about the other 70 sites on your overcrowded server affecting your site's performance.
Since we don't expect to have tons of people interested, we won't have a specific pricing plan. We're not doing this to make a profit so we'll simply guarantee we can beat whatever you're paying now while providing as much bandwidth and disk space as you need. As a ballpark figure, unless you have unusually large needs, we wouldn't charge more than $10-$15 a month. As an added benefit, wouldn't it be nice to know that the money you're paying is going to a community that you're part of instead of some greedy hosting company?
To put it simply: 90% of our server is sitting around doing nothing and we'd like to put it to use. We're willing to be flexible and cheap since something is better than nothing. Win-win situation for everyone. If anyone's interested or has any questions, drop me or JA an e-mail and we'll be glad to help you out.

As always, it's a pleasure to be harassed by you.
I shall try to spurn JA into action.

I don't remember ever getting an email from you Lady Palpatine. I remember Mandard saying that I should be expecting one, but that was a long time ago.

10 - 15 dollars is a little steep. Is it just a sub domain, or would you have your own domain and e-mails? I'd pay $8 a month in the near future if I could have my own domain and plenty of space.
What features are there? A forum provided would substantiate a much higher price by the month, for instance.
Maybe you should offer different prices for different amounts of space. People only need a couple of gigs to start out, but eventually may need more for media and archives.
If the PS3 is so incredibly superior to the Xbox 360 in game quality, game quantity, game breadth, game visuals, depth of the digital entertainment experience and price, God bless them.

Actually, most people wouldn't even need a couple of gigs. I don't know anyone who realistically needs more than 100-200MB, unless they're running sites that involve a lot of multimedia.

My site would involve not only a lot of multimedia, but high res stuff.
joe, you can look at the bottom of any page at this site and see that it supports PHP.
