Why was this named nightly.net? What inspired the name? I can't believe it's taken me this long to start wondering about it, but, whatever.

Yeah, something like that. Unless somebody can get the story from Chris, we'll never know exactly why he chose it.

Yeah, that's not us and it never has been. I'm sure you can see the difference between the words "nightly net" and the domain "nightly.net".

But...I'm Chris. And if I'm Chris, I must know why I chose the name Nightly.net. But if I knew, I wouldn't be posting this question. But I don't know, so I ...*BOOM!*
Dang, I've overloaded!

Here's a question. Where is the server physically located? Is it in an office, home, basement, or garage? And what kind of ISP is used? Lastly, could you provide the specs of the server? I could, if needed donate parts for pretty much any kind of server.

The records only go back to 1999 when, in Florida, the physical structure was mysteriously blown away - the resulting loss in power coupled with the massive post counts and the hysteria surrounding the return of Star Wars forged us into the Matrix. Yes, resistance was futile. We later learned - from the Arkitekt that none of this info would be available for anyone - that is, until the all-time post count leader disseminates it some half a decade later.

Our server is at a data center in Dallas owned by ServerMatrix. It's a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 with 1 GB RAM. And no, I'm pretty sure they won't let anyone walk in and add parts to our server, but thanks for the offer.

And successfully! There's only a couple minor details that I got spoiled on. Basically, just the trailers and the Clone Wars.
(Psst, if you'd ever clean out your PM box, this would be the type of thing you'd use it for. )

though i suppose we'll never know the full truth... originally this place wasn't even called "nightly" but was just the episodeII.com and episodeIII.com prediction forums, as well as a community forum that became the lando system...

Cool! So if I ever find myself in Dallas can I go down there and take some pics?
