I registered with the name "Darth Bane" in 1999. I was an active community member and I even moderated the "star wars trilogy" board for a time.
After I left there was a second "Darth_Bane" who registered and used the underscore to differentiate himself.
What with the excitement over Revenge of the Sith, I decided to return to nightly.net-- only now I see this OTHER Bane has taken my name, and I was given the underscore. This was not asked of me for permission, nor would I have said yes. Identity theft is a very serious matter.
I would like this matter resolved please.

Does anybody even know who this guy is? Just because you were first doesnt mean that you have priority. If anything you're stealing my identity. One that I have built up over my past 10000+ posts.
With all that said, by the looks of your postings here in Nightly today, I'd be more than happy to label you as a troll. It's probably a good thing that you havent been posting since 1999, you'd have probably been banned for your trolling behaviour, which is what might just be happening now.

I was a moderator myself. I have done no "trolling" as you call it. I have admittedly, posted on your tail in a few spots becuase i was angry. How would you feel if the situation were reversed?
I still await an "administrator's" word on this subject.

How would I feel? Well, ok, considering that I'd be in your exact situation. Having not posted at a message board for almost 6 years, and when I did post there only racked up 250 posts, I would be impressed at the fact that my name still exists. I wouldve expected my inactivity to have had me deleted. Which it has done on every board that I have ever visited. Thus, to see someone who has made a name for themselves with that same name you had, I might be irked, but I wouldnt expect them to change it due to the fact that have more than 40 times my posts.
Do you comprehend?
Edit: As I watch your recent activity, where you've been visiting, I see you going to all the places where I post. Meaning you've gone into my last 50 posts area and are reading everything i've posted. Online stalker?? This is kindof freaky, Admins, please get rid of him accordingly.

Yeah, man I'm afraid we have to side with "our" Darth Bane on this one. You haven't been a member of the community in YEARS. Literally. Derek has been here day in and day out for a long time, as his post count attests.
We're more than willing to welcome you back to Nightly, your past mod-ship is good enough for me to overlook your harasssing of Derek, but i'm afraid the underscore stays. You can always get a new username and re-register.
I realize it was YOUR name first, but liek derek said, this is who we know him as. I also find it odd you decide to show up for the first time in ages just AFTER he made the change. I assume this is some sort of point of ownership in your mind-- but really, it's a Star Wars name. It's no more yours than anyone else's.
To be fair, prove to me you're actually back for more than just taking a shot at Derek. If you REALLY want to be a member of this community again, stick around. If you vanish again after a couple of days then we'll know what the issue really is...
