I have been here for five years and I never really learned how to do this, but how do you quote two different people in the same response?

You could write out the little brackety code yourself or do what I do - right click on the second to-be-quoted to open in a new window, cut all of that and place it in your original to-be-posted or quoted. Is that what you mean?

Maybe he wanted the name of the person he's quoting included like normal, in which case he could take my secondary suggestion. Or just type it out by doing this:
