Episodeii.com was a Star Wars scoop site owned by the same guy who owned nightly at the time, and he had them linked. When the later administrations took over, nightly was handled by itself, and the original owner gave up on episode11.com. in fact it was thanks to the handed down administration that nightly stayed around.
but yeah, that sort of relationship between sites is what we've talked about-- only with a larger all-ecompassing fandom/geek site as opposed to just a sw site.
I liked that idea too but the content creation side of it is consuming. It's not enough to have people posting links to other sites articles as D-ray mentioned above. You would need to develop you're own "insider sources" to get scoops to set you apart from the many other entertainment news sites. I would suggest instead of trying to start from scratch that it would be a better idea to partner with an existing entertainment news site and serve as their "official" message board. It would get Nightly more traffic and exposure.
