1. Go to "My Profile". 2. Go to "Edit Profile". 3. Go to "Choose a different avatar". 4. Put the URL of your chosen avatar in the blank line that reads "Use Custom URL". 5. Click "Set URL" 6. Click "Select this avatar". -> this returns you to your Edit Profile page. 7. Scroll down the page until you see "Update Profile". Click this.

Go to your profile, go to edit profile, go to select avatar or select a different avatar image. A new window will pop up. Add the URL in the box next to where it says "Use Custom URL", hit "set URL," then hit "select this avatar" under the avatar picture. Close out that window and hit save in your profile. Pictures can only be in certain formats - I think .jpg or .gif.

It has to be hosted online somewhere, it can't be on your computer, and nightly doesn't host them.

I tried, it shows a lil red X on a black screen. I picked AVATAR in www.imageshack.us, picked a JPEG picture, used the link after it loads, but my results are the X. Help please?

Are you still having trouble with your avatar? What is the URL of the image you want to use? I might be able to get into your profile and fix it. Although, with the move this weekend you might have to reset the avatar anyway.

If i have trouble with an avatar, to make sure you get the right URL i find it's best to right-click the image, select properties and get it from there.
