Before you go damning Basil for his Fs and Us, you should look at the previous page. Pay special attention to one of Trilas posts to Ness. See ? Winch is not the only one who can snitch around here...
Let me know who's posting vulgar stuff in SWC, and I'll get on all of them. Everyone knows (or should know) that SWC isn't that kind of forum. Use common sense. Sheesh, I feel like a baby-sitter.
You won't feel like a baby-sitter if you stop treating people like children.
Unless, of course, the SW chick forum IS for children? I don't know 'cause there isn't any indication of that. How would we know?
And if it IS a safe haven for little children, what's to stop them from going to any other "baby-sitter-less" room?
So, what are the rules? Why are there different standards, and how are we to know them? Seriously.
And are there really that many kids running around in here that the 99% who are over 11 can't talk about real-life-grown-up-stuff without burning the children's eyes out?
I understand any private club has its own rules, but are there any reasons for them? Or are they just because they're already written down so let's just STFU BASIL AND PLAY BY THEM OR GO AWAY! Or are there actual reasons behind them?

I understand that part (about PG because it's originally a SW board and they're PG movies and all that...), but, in light of what nightly has become, what is that PG sign in aid of.

We don't cater to young children. You don't need to pretend to take the "baby-sitter" comment literally.
The SWC forum has always been more tightly moderated than most other boards. There are no specific guidelines other than our standard rules are enforced more strictly. I mean, all things considered, this is a pretty laid-back board and we generally give people a fair bit of leeway from the "official" rules. In SWC, the only difference is that there is somewhat less leeway than say, Lando. The reasons behind this is simply that that is how the members there prefer it. I don't often visit the forum myself but my sense is that most of our SWC members are happy with how things are moderated. It's possible that has or could change in the future, but as you might guess, we would mainly be concerned with the opinions of the female members.
So yeah, pretty much play by their rules or take off. Doesn't every board work that way? And we've even generously provided two other community boards to offer all users a variety of options to meet their community-board needs.

Re: the baby-sitter comment: I wasn't complaining about looking out for kids. I was complaining because people are acting like little kids who have to be told what to do all the time.

{edit] Then stop telling adults what to do would be my suggestion. What's more important? The rules, or the members?[/edit]
But anyway, I hear ya and that's fair and it makes sense. I thank you for your thought-out reply.
For some reason I'm getting paranoid, like I'm going to get "in trouble" for writing down some random thoughts on a message board (sure there are other boards, but I have a 6 year history here with relationships I've cultivated that I value, so banning IS a considerable threat not to be taken lightly).
Not that I care about SW Chicks (I've made 3 posts there in 6 years - although, I think I tried that Master/Padawan thing when I was still drunk - so it's not about that. I guess I'm just making sure we're all on the same page.
Obviously, the girls can run their clubhouse however they want.

Star Wars Chicks is the way it is because of its members, as Mandard explained.

I think you're on to something, though UK. Not literally, but in a sense. I find the less people can handle "immaturity", the less "mature" they really are. As if we're ruining the illusion they had of what "grown-ups" were "supposed" to act/talk/be like.

I think we can trust the SWC to take care of themselves. Sheesh. Everyone in this thread has a point- Mara was right overall, though Basil certainly has points that partain to this particular situation- but come on. They have a mod and common sense.

Basil, what's wrong with Lando? Do you hate us?

Boy shut your mouth.
Basil, while I understand your frustration (I had a thread pretty much deleted in swc cause it was on the dirty side). Mara's right though, swc's is just tamer is all. I know of at least three chicks that are under the age of 14 in there and they are just looking out for them.

We've answered the question, so I'm closing this.
