I don't forsee any changes to the Cantina. Lando and Cantina are like night and day and I agree it should stay that way.

Considering on what the respective mods think though, the "rating" of SWC might be able to stand to be kicked up a notch, though.

The lid was only partially closed. From where I was standing, all of my pee hit the proper target.

Perhaps part of the problem nowadays is that we don't do that as well.

While I've always been a teddy bear with the hide of Fantastic Four's THING and you may have had a thick skin back then... it wasn't that way for the majority. When I was a mod I was often flooded with PMs along the sentiment of "he's touching me, Dad!" "Dad!!! She called me names!" "Dad!!!!!!!! He pulled my dolly's hair!" Seriously, everytime I logged in there was a PM waiting for me about someone messing with another. You have to remember that a vast majority of complaints never were in the open... although when they spilled over to the public view it was like the Exxon Valdez.

Krawlie accepted what he did, took the temp ban in stride and came back, most like everyone else. You decided to play the role of defiant rebel, and were gone longer. Simple. At the point you were banned it had nothing to do with the censor rule any longer.

That is simply revisionist history. You overreacted and then didn't have the humility to admit you were wrong. Instead you enforced a ridiculous 30 day ban because of a bruised ego.

Even from what you just said I still don't get it. I wasn't the one by-passing the censor (that was Macho) nor was I warned of a rule I was breaking. As I recall it went something like this:

That wasn't nice. I never get personal with anyone like that.

Then this followed:

But as I said, maybe we'll work it out. But that's between Awe and I.

And with that, since I do believe the original questions have been answered in full, cheers.

P.S. I do like the avatars, though, glad you enjoyed my nickname.

Problem solved to me. Except that it wasn't. A 30 day ban came soon thereafter when I posted the following in an unrelated thread responding to a question from Trila:

Nay. Your more likely to get banned for typing

"Hey, **** ****, **** you **** **** here!"

in the wrong thread, at the wrong time. So I've heard.

Seems like an overreaction to me. Either that or the User Agreement should be amended to prohibit "making a big joke out of the situation." Because as you recall, Awe's 2 hour ban was for typing "Hey, **** ****, **** you **** **** here!" -- which was the joke by the way.

Of course no one can see Awe's "bannable" post because it was deleted.

Okay, I have to jump in again.

Two things:

1). To D-Ray: I don't seem to recall that many people having that thick a skin back in "the Good Ol' Days". As Torch already mentioned, there was a great deal of flaming going on between several members for a countless number of reasons. There was Silky and ES and those who supported them and those who continually bashed on them. There was Kwan, and Red 5 and even myself who were fighting among ourselves and others continually. Red 5 actually got hit from multiple sides for multiple reasons. SOME of us had pretty thick skin, but how many great members did we use to have here who left Nightly, either temporarily or permanently, because they were sick of the fighting, back-stabbing, and general chaos that was the Cantina before and shortly after Torch, Six, and Ryn stepped in to clean it up? Some of the great names of Nightly history are not around any more mainly because of "The Good Ol' Days".

2). To Sigh: There is two major logical flaws in the arguments you and other have made. In regards to the picture in the Cantina and placing a "tag" on it. Chalce starts a thread about cake; perfectly harmless. Then Lace adds her picture in to "spice it up", which it did. I didn't particularly need to see that, and yes, such a thing might not be appropriate for work and such regardless of your gender. But if the argument is to place such a "tag" on that thread because Lace added a racey picture, who is going to add the "tag"? The moderator? Maybe. But, as did happen, most Mods here have this tendancy to nuke such things, especially when they come out of left field as Lace's picture did, rather than place warnings. Spoiler warnings are one thing, and most of the Mods are better prepared to deal with that. But for pictures that are, AT BEST, questionable, most err on the side of caution and simply nuke it. And a little more discression on Lace's part might have avoided the issue all together. Chalc's cake thread was NOT the place for THAT pic, warning or no.

Secondly, to make SWC more racey is to also risk the youngsters who DO frequent that board. For better or worse, there are quite a few there, girls mainly, obviously, who are in their early teens, if that. I don't think I'm too far off bace to suggest that Destiny and Jami are likely keeping those people in mind when they enforce the rules there. So your efforts to make them more "adult" should at least procede with caution.

well, personally, i think it would be similar to the 'spoiler warning!!' tags in the star wars saga forum... sometimes someone would post something that was a spoiler. either they'd tag it with a '*spoiler warning!!*' or a moderator would do it. if it didn't get tagged, for whatever reason, other people would step in and say 'whoa, thats a spoiler there!!', and it got tagged, either by a mod or the person who started the thread. nobody gave two hoots. seriously. it didn't seem to be that big an issue, really. if you wanted to stay spoiler free, you just stayed out of a thread marked 'spoiler warning!!'.
i'd imagine that a {nsfw} tag would work tremendously, actually.

i'd rather not shut it down, if it's all the same to you... don't mind denman et al, they prattle on about denmans ban anytime someone shows any interest.

i think the whole 'where does the picture go?' discussion is still very much calm, respectful and under control, and i am curious to see what the moderators feel about the suggestions that have been made.

Wrong, try again. The only person I overreaated against was Awe. He received an email AND an apology for this. So much for my huge ego. You and MG were being jackasses. I don't apologize for this and to this day don't think I overreacted.

All that stuff you took the time quoting from me, Den, after all that I was prepared to let it go, had every intention to. But you conveniantly leave out where you two then ventured over to a SWS forum and derailed it completely laughing it up and joking over our stupid rule. When I saw that, that's when I banned you. It was immature. If you have a problem with me and you want to deal with me, there were ways of contacting me. Disrupting another forum with your grievances, though? I don't like that.

Wekko, I apologize that this thread went in a direction it wasn't designed to, I'm sorry for that. I don't want to close it just yet though because hell, airing out some things is sometimes healthy.
