Umm...have I misread, or are people already talking about the book in this thread?

Just whether they have the book or what page they are or very very small tidbits. A sentence that starts or includes "my impression of [insert stuff from book]" belongs to the discussion when the book is done.
But you and ShadowDog are free to override me on this.

I think the whole point of putting up the page number is so that if anyone isn't up to there they don't read that post.

So when does the discussion proper start?

I'm not finished either but I've been mostly avoiding this thread (except for scanning for porn/offensive content ... especially whenever I see that UK Legend Killa has posted ) and plan to continue doing so until I'm finished. So you guys can talk amongst yourselves whenever you're ready.

That's a lot of people (considering the relatively small size of our group.) I think we should give it a few more days in that case.

I'm more than willing to wait for everyone. The only reason I finished it so fast is that it's been surpisingly slow at work (where I do most of my reading). I'll probably be a late commer on the next one.
So how are we to procede? Discussion questions or just speak our minds about the book?

Fo' now just the speaking the minds thing, but I think discussion questions are a good idea once a few more people finish.

5 pages still left. Don't expect much to happen. Except for a short drop and sudden stop.

If you'd read other people's posts we wouldn't have this problem. From the 10th:

I was looking for a link for the Dan Brown thread when I remembered that there was a story recently about Capote. It deals with a letter from Capote that dispells the rumor that he wrote "To Kill a Mockingbird."

i want to know what this means

the book overall was hard to read because it was based on a true story and so much of the book was about the monsters who did it. i didnt care about Hickock and Smiths lives they were monsters and they were dumb on top of that. it was such a senseless and dumb crime.
but what did you guys think about it? im not very good at breaking down what ive read. i just got a D for my book report on The Three Musketeers.

With practice, you will get better and your skills will increase.
i havent finished reading yet (got involved with other things). Now, if I had a deadline, I could lock myself into my power reading...

I'm been buried in work this week so I haven't had time to finish it either. But I really think that the people who have finished should go ahead and start discussing before they've read too many more books and forget everything. Us lateies like you and I, Bonnie, can always catch up by reading through the threads. Don't worry, all the brilliant points won't be taken up. And if they are, I'll just delete a couple and pretend I thought them up.
