You can get them at BigBadToyStore.com for $50 a case. Which is cheap, considering you'd pay about $10 each for them elsewhere. Includes 12 different figures. They're up to Act 10 now (10 different sets of figures).

Getting off-current topic: You know, one thing Starscream, he's such a good character that he's entertaining no matter what kind of show he's on. I was watching Armada this morning (old episode), and Starscream operates out of the same agenda (and is a similar character to his G1 counterpart). And he's still entertaining.

Right now, in the current episodes, Starscream has reluctantly sided with the Autobots (though he isn't quite sure what to do). I have to say that Armada hasn't gotten much better than the earlier episodes. Still nowhere near as good as G1 or Beast Wars, but I like it better than Beast Machines or RiD.

I noticed which "Headmasters" episode that Ironhide is in yesterday. Its the episode where the Targetmasters first appear. Also, Skyfire is seen in that episode.

You should check it out. Its got some pretty obscure Transformers in there, even ones like Alpha Trion.

I'm gonna order the first "Super God Masterforce" DVD boxed set today. It has all the original G1 commercials, in English! [Big Grin]

(wish Rhino would do something like that as extras, instead of giving us another Botcon feature [Thumbs Down] )

Yeah, the Japanese stories just aren't as good as the original American run. Not enough variety; cookie-cutter stuff. They're pretty much the same thing, over and over. But the animation is better and more consistant in the Japanese episodes. There's a tougher edge to the Japanese series; humans and other Transformers will die. Also, old Transformers will make a cameo every now and then.

The thing I didn't like about Victory, though it was the best Transformers series in terms of animation, was that there weren't enough Transformers I was familiar with. They were all Japanese exclusives. Perceptor and Wheeljack show up briefly, but that's about it.

I ordered mine off Amazon Japan. Its region 2, so you have to have a DVD player that will play that region. If you've got a DVD player on your PC, just get PowerDVD (download it of Kazaa [Devil] ). You can play any DVD from any region. If you've got a PS2, you can also play multiregional DVDs with a Gameshark, Action Replay, or DVD RegionX.

Headmasters was in Japanese language only, with no subtitles. But its pretty easy to figure out what is going on. I don't know about Masterforce, but I assume its Japanese only with no subtitles. But the commercials are the American toy commericals, and they're in English. Here is where you can order it off Amazon Japan:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/dvd/B00008CH58/249-4066712-0134751

Over on the right-hand side, you will see text that says "Display in English". Click on that and it will allow you to go you through the ordering process in English. [Thumbs Up]

This site also shows some of the other stuff that's available:

http://www.bigbot.com/japanese-dvds/

I went ahead and ordered the Beast Wars II movie today, also.

Yep, it was Japan theatrical release. Cel animation, not CGI. It includes a lot of the Beast Wars characters that weren't used in the show, plus some others we never saw.

It recaps season 1 of Beast Wars, provided a preview of Beast Wars Metals (which the Japanese hadn't localized at the time), and aired an entirely new feature story that is a continuation of the Beast Wars II cartoon.

Stupid US movie audiences, rarely give Japanese movies a chance. And when they do, half the time the American distributer does a crappy job w/ the translation. [EG Godzilla 2000 I highly doubt TOHO would've used the phrase [The missle will go thru Godzilla]...like crap through a goose.

The format it was in, with the recaps and all, I don't think it would have gone over with American audiences in the theater. The new feature itself wouldn't have been long enough without all that other stuff. Still, somebody should've given it a shot here, whether it be on TV or a direct-to-video release.

What they should have done is made a second movie either on tv or direct to video to conclude the american story, or made it right before realseing beast wars to fill the story in betweeen them.

Yeah, that would've worked.

I finally watched Zone for the first time on DVD last night, and I really liked it. The animation was very good, and there were some kick-ass action scenes. Man, I can't believe what they did to Piranacon and especially Predaking. Geeze. Its a shame they didn't make a full series out of it. It had a unique, almost movie feel to it.

i agree, expecially since zone's leader dai atlas didn't get much air time as the autobot leader, i liked it except for the fact that whenever i rewatched it i couldn't turn my head due to subtitles, the first time i saw it i was hooked on it.

It really did become just a big commercial by that point. I mean, obviously Hasbro was trying to market the toys in the first 4 seasons of Transformers, but they also took the time to develope a lot of the characters, not just one or two. They also had different stories (like "Hoist Goes to Hollywood" or "Prime Target")

In Headmasters, most of the character development is spent only on Chromedome and Sixshot. You've got similar stories, over and over, where the Decepticons are trying to take over some planets energy source. Then, towards the end of the series, you could count on there being a battle between Maximus and Scorponok.

victory is worse, at the end you can count on star saber defeating somewon with his sword, at least in teh first few episodes.
