Well Tuesday night at 10 I know where I'll be. Anyone else looking forward to the rumored final season.

If you've never watched it before check it out. Little bit different than your standard "cop show". Tuesday Nights on FX at 10.

I'm a huge fan of The Shield, just finished re-watching Season 4 on dvd, IMO the best "cop show" on television. While I think this is very likely the final season, it is also going to be the longest, I read that it will be around 22 episodes long. The insert in my dvd proclaimed that January would be the beginning of the end of The Shield as well, which I believe is a good thing, so they don't end up with some ridiculous "jump the shark" moment. The season is suppose to revolve around the Strike Teams investigation by Internal Affairs led by Forrest Whitaker's character.

Yeah, guess Danny is pregnant too, and she don't tell who the daddy is. (Got that from the preview on the official site.)

I also heard that there's 20 or more episodes this season.

Well they did say its the "beginning" of the end, maybe that means the actual end will be season 6....well I can dream can't I?

I can't believe that Billings, the spineless detective is going to be the new Captain. You think they will end the series with Vic Mackey's death, arrest, escape?

Well Claudette did say they'd pick a "spineless jellyfish company yes man" as Monica's interm replacement. Makes perfect sense to me. Suprised Dutch turned it down, given his ambitions. I bet we'll see him regret that later, also lets not forget the fight him and Billings got into during season 4. It could be a good thing too, Billings is a moron, so Vic will be able to run all over him with no problem. Forrest Whittiker's character is going to be the one giving Vic problems.

As for Vic, tough to say right now. I got a gut feeling he'll take his own life, or sacrifice his life in the line of duty. I'd love to see him put Acaveda in cuffs and read him his rights for something. That'd be a great end, to see Vic finally get back at him for all the crap.

Yeah Billings does fit that description quite well, the Strike Team could run roughshot over him too. I wonder if Claudette will be redeemed for her moral behavior in the end, getting the captain's job or possibly higher. I think Dutch will bust out the carwash incident eventually, I'm also wondering how long Vic's new found respect for Dutch will last.

I got a feeling good old Vic will take a few shots at Dutch.

Claudette will probably contine to piss people upstairs off. I'd love to see her get some kind of revenge on the DA and the Brass.

I got a definate feeling one of the strike team members (besides Vic) will be arrested or killed.

Who you think is Danny's baby daddy?

I have no clue, do you have any idea the time frame between the seasons, if it has been a while, there were at least a few months between 3 and 4 it seemed. Maybe its a guy we have no clue and haven't been introduced too, **** maybe it is even Vic...

I figure it'll have to be someone we've seen.

Here's a list of suspects:

Vic - They messed around in the car staking out Monica's house in Season 4, prior history of "flings"

The brother who worked at the pawnshop - he helped her and Julian crack a case, and then kept asking her out. I think they actually went out a few times, maybe she gave it up to him.

Julian - Unlikley, but they did spend much time together

Dutch - She almost kissed him once, who knows what could've happened off camera

and then my Dark Horse Canidate:

Acevada - They rode together after the two cops got killed, and from then on she was eyeballing him really funny. He was still cheating on his wife with that whore, so maybe him and Danny got caught up in the moment one night. He was also the one who got her job back after season 2, so he might have used that as leverage to get in her pants. How great would that be to see him brought down for having a bastard child with one of his employees?

Thats nuts because I thought of that same episode with Aceveda, I always wanted her to get with that pawnshop dude, he is pretty funny especially in the episdoe where they bust Antwon's son.

Guess Army's out of the picture this season. Hope he comes back for an episode or two, and Shane and Vic get revenge on him for leaving them hanging with the lie detector.

The one character I wish would come back is Tevon, I liked his character, I think he would have been down with the Strike Teams dirty business if he was eased into it.

Yeah I liked Tavon too. I was pissed when Shane screwed him up. Wouldn't mind seeing him come back for a little revenge.

Yeah I hated Shane for a while after that, until like the end of the last season, when he redeemed himself somewhat. Only one day, I'm pumpe.

I'm still not keen on Shane, he seems to always be screwing up Vic's plans. Really hope that he (Shane) gives his freeloading wife the boot. I positivly hate her.

Damn less than 24 hours to go. If this is the last season, I hope it goes out with a huge bang. I'm talking people getting killed off in the first episode. That'd be cool.

I just hope its not Lem, that would be pretty shocking if like Shane got killed in the first episdoe.

I'm sure that IAD is going to be using Lem to get to the strike team. Wonder how the boys will be able to get out of this one.

Good find. I never really knew if Lem and Ronnie knew about Vic shooting Terry. Guess they didn't. That puts a whole new spin on things.

Yeah they brought that up in the documentary on the Season 4 dvd, Lem and Ronnie being in the dark about Terry, it seems this is going to be a big part of the next season. Also I didn't know that Forrest Whittiker's character was only going to be in part of teh season, hopefully knowing that doesn't ruin anything. And does anyone else around here enjoy The Shield's greatness?

Hey guys,

Mind if i get in on your discussion?!?

I tried several times over the last 2 years to get a thread going here on Nightly on THE SHIELD. It got very few responses and was thus closed. Glad to hear there's other fans of this GREAT show. There are very few shows i look forward to watching on tv, The Shield is one of them.

I also suspect that this could be the last season. My guess would be that it would end with Mackey in jail taking the fall for everything The Strike Team has done: Terry's death, The Money Train, illegal drug seizures, etc. Though i'd hate to see it go, it would be ending on a high note. The last 2 seasons have been good, but not quite as captivating as the first 2 seasons, which IMO were the best!!!

I really hope Lem doesn't sell out and become a rat for IAD. Though he does seem to the one with his head screwed on straight caring about his career, he torched all the money train Cash!!

CAn't wait for tonight's ep. Hope discussion is ongoing. Keep up the Posts!!!! [Thumbs Up]

Well they definatly got the ball rolling.

I like the office pool on Danny's baby.

Forrest Whittiker looks like he's going to be one shifty m.f'er.

Acevadea needs to die, get humiliated, or locked up

Yeah Aceveda is a *****, that hispanic cop is a stone cold fox, Danny baby thing is hilarious, the names on the pool board were hysterical, I paused the DVR to read them all, Ronnie was a straight up badass in this episode, granted he was kicking the dudes ass why Shane held him, I really liked the feel of this episode, more of a Season 1 and 2 feel. I;m really excited for this season. And are we to assume Claudette has cancer? Oh also, I liked the new respect between Dutch and Vic and everyones disdain for Billings.

OUTSTANDING Episode!!!

This episode is the one i've been waiting for for some time. The best thing was how it set the characters and their possible plot lines for the rest of the season.

I can't believe they are going to make Vic retire. That can't be....NOOOOOOOO.

One thing about Aceveda that could happen is to bring up his past incident with that guy that raped him. I know he was killed while in county jail but his girlfriend is still around and could have the camera phone with those pictures. If Vic or someone can get them they used it against him big time.

The Forrest Whitacker character seems like such an A-hole.!

Can't wait for the rest of this season, could/should be the best one yet.
