If he doesn't want to be in the next bottom three, he NEEDS to find that Ace again.

By the way, if you like Chris Daughtry check out his band's website at http://absentelement.com/

They kind of remind me of A Perfect Circle.

Anyone have a good MP3 of Chris' "Walk The Line"?

Edit: Nevermind, I found one. I'll host a copy if you all want it.

I do, but I'm at work. If you go to the link KFJ posted - www.theidolshow.com - they have downloads for audio and video. You have to register but it's free. That's where I downloaded his song.

My mom wants me to download all his songs and make a CD for her, lol. She's a fangirl too. [Big Grin]

www.idolforever.com has the songs up really fast, sometimes during the show. You have to register for the forums to have access, just like the other site posted.

Have any of you ever heard Live's version of Walk the Line that Chris "cheated" with? If not, hunt it down and listen to it. He does a much better version of it vocally, hard to say that he ripped them off.

Wow. I just downloaded it. Just wow. I don't know what to think. Chris still sang the living hell out of that song, but I think what made his performance better was his interview spot where it showed that it was his idea to remake the song. And how he stood there smilin and nodding in front of the judges while they all praised him for being so original.

Leaves a slightly bad taste. But he's still better than the rest. He should have been honest though. I'm going to re-watch the interview portion.

Damnit.

His version blew Live's version away. Plus, that interview could have been chopped so it looked like he took all the credit. He gave props to the Chili Peppers when he remade Higher Ground... however that was a more popular song.

I don't know, all I know is Absent Element ROCKS!!

Good point...bring it on. And bring back Taylor's excitement. It was gone last week and should be due for a return.

Ok, Rock Cowell here with a live, running commentary. Let's get the show on the road!

It's 21st Century night. Songs made famous in the past 6 years. Should be easy for EVERYONE and have no excuse for bad song selection.

Lisa - What happened to her? She was SOOO up and down in that song. Weak at times, dead at other times and decent at some points. What a huge dissapointment. That song was the best she could come up with?

Kellie - Couldn't she choose a song a LITTLE less countryish??? Like a Faith Hill type? A little more mainstream woulda hit it. She pickled that up.

Ass, err, Ace - God, I hope she gets voted off. I can't stand her. She sounds like complete crap. Not a drop of balls in his voice. He so needs to be in a boy band and off this competition.

Taylor - Pretty boring song. It's just not his style. He needs to stick with the upbeat mojo and quit with the slow, cry baby crap. This was VERY boring and he didn't even sound good. Sorry, Mac.

This show sucks so far. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

Mandisa - Even Mandisa just sounds flat. Maybe it's my TV? Or maybe it's because we didn't see anything new from her? It's just the same thing week after week. It's like she TRIED to be into the song instead of ACTUALLY being in the song. Know what I mean?

I have a new mission in life: To slap the sh*t out of Paula Abdul.

Chris - It has to be my TV. That wasn't great either. Maybe because it wasn't better than Creed's version? And the fact that had listed to that song so many times and is one of my favorites. He should have doen a different song. Simon was DEAD on. Once again my boy Simon and I are on the same page.

Kat - She looked nervous. Not a great song, but she pulled it off. She showed a ton of range ala Mariah carey. Best performance tonight, but thats not saying much. I still love you, babe.

Bucky - Same thing as Kellie. That was the BEST country song from the past 6 years you could come up with???? I hate country, but I still know what sounds good and what sound slike crap. Bucky did the latter. Get back to your Thunder Rolls performance IF you make it to next week.

WTF is up with everyone tonight???

Paris - My god. WHO IS CHOOSING THESE SONGS? She was okay, and that may be an overstatement. She saved it with the end note, which was VERY strong. At least she was VERY into it. She'll make it to the next round.

Elliot - HAHAH, he messed up on the song! he stuttered in the first line! At least he coulda dressed up for the show if he was gonna mess it all up. Good song, too. Oh well.

***

I'm so dissapointed with EVERYONE's performance. How much easier can you get with SONGS FROM THE PAST 6 YEARS???? This will be hard to predict who will go home. Lisa, Ace & Bucky will be the bottom 3. I would say Kellie, but her particular fanbase will carry her over and her cute personality. If I had to guess, and I have to, I'll go with Bucky departing tomorrow.

Lisa - What a stupid song choice. You deserve to go home just because of that.

Kellie - Man, you are really annoying. And that song was BOR-ING. I'm sick of her "I'm sorry!" Whatever.

Ace - I hate this song, but his voice works with it. Okay.

Taylor - I liked the song. I thought it was a good change for him. And I love how Simon tries to COMPLIMENT him and tell him that he needs to be true to his style, and everyone yells at him for it. Sheesh.

Mandisa - I didn't really like the song, but she rocked it. I would love to see a Mandisa-Chris final two.

Chris - EVERYBODY NEEDS TO TAKE A CLUE FROM THIS GUY. (Although I know my mom is going to complain that he carried the mic stand around. She hates that, lol.) And I thought it was funny that they mentioned that he sang Live's version. I guess they do pay attention to the internet, LOL.

Katharine - You sucked tonight, I'm sorry. I hate that style of song. (On and your outfit was dumb. That's to constrast Paula's "you look great!")

Bucky - Good song for him, but it was just "aight," as Simon says. I think this should keep him around another week.

Paris - She was really, really good. I think she could have chosen a different Beyonce song, though.

Elliot - He has a good voice, but I didn't like the arrangement. Elliot is soulful, not funky. But it was one of the best of the week - which is unfortunately isn't saying anything.

I was really, really underwhelmed this week. Come on, American Idols! Entertain me! Sheesh.

I think Lisa will go home this week, although I think Kellie was the worst, and her attitude is really starting to annoy the crap out of me. Her "I'm dumb" act is getting old.

Yeah, I found it funny when Ryan brought up Live's "Walk the Line" thing with Chris and then glossed over it like it was nothing. Which was right, in my opinion. It wasn't that big a deal. Just wished he brought that heat tonight.

Taylor needed to sing Elliot's song. Well, the silver lining of tonight was that it was only an hour long. There's only so much crap I can stand for one night.

Either way, this is the funniest thing I've seen online this week. [Laugh] I also loved the Ace being female bit. LOL

I agree with the general sentiment this week that the episode pretty much sucked. I did like Bucky better this week than in previous weeks though.

Either Lisa or Ace is going home. >:-#

That's a genuine Rock-ism, my friend. [Rock]

Bucky was crap. And here's the problem. He and Kellie are going to split the hick vote, but it won't be an equal split, sending Bucky home.

Oh, another thing. Katherine didn't look pregnant this week. Weird. Maybe I was drunk the last couple weeks or something because it sure looked in previous weeks like she was.

She also seemed out of breath, which makes me believe she was laced up in that outfit...could be?

Lisa – She sucks and has since day one. Go back to Disney music and get out here.

Kellie – She’s too country for country music. That twang in her voice is annoying.

Ace – Ace is horrible. It’s like he lost his voice after the first week and they had to implant another voice inside him…too bad they chose some random girl off the street for the transplant.

Taylor – I like Taylor and little will change that. Will he ever be mainstream? Probably not, it’s not his style. He has a great dirty voice, too bad he was born about 30 years too late to use it.

Mandisa – She’s got pipes…she just overuses them. I like her voice, but she goes over the top every time. At least she’s got a diverse song selection from which to over sing.

Chris – He’s an alternative/rocker and he knows that. I don’t think he needs to change. I think he has the potential to rock any genre. Has he gone over the top on some of the rock songs? Yeah, but he’s also shown that he can rock it without going over the top, which is something unique.

Katharine –Yes, she’s pretty, but is that it? She’s a Kelly Clarkson clone, only a better looking model. I’ve seen nor heard anything outstanding from her.

Bucky – He’s a country bar singer and that’s about all he’ll ever be. I like his attitude though.

Paris – Paris could really do well in today’s market if she just finds her own comfort zone. Is she the best in this group for what they are doing right now? No.

Elliot – He’s another one that could do well singing things where we don’t have to see him like a Disney movie score. I really like his soulful voice, too bad he hasn’t really shown it off like he did week one.
